Peaches and GREAT ways to use them!
We picked an entire box of peaches off one of our peach trees one evening last week and have been enjoying them since. All week we have been sharing peach recipes, so if any of you have any peaches left, here are 25+ ways to use peaches quickly. Because peaches tend to be on the sweeter side, they make amazing pairings with savory ingredients like chicken, pork, or grilled steak. But they also make great additions on salads or any type of dessert too!
Tips and Tricks about Peaches
First, here is an easy way that shows how to peel a peach. This will come in handy because typically when baking with peaches you do want to remove the skin.
Also, you want to make sure the peaches are ripe and ready to be consumed. The sure fire way to know if a peach is ready is by gently feeling it to test for ripeness. Very softly, hold a peach in the palm of your hand press very lightly at the stem end of the peach. Be sure not to squeeze the peach too hard, as it will bruise easily. One subtle squeeze is all you need, if the peach indents slightly, the peach is ripe and ready to eat!
If you have a few peaches that are not quite ripe and you want to speed the process up, here’s a trick for you! Put the peaches in a paper bag and close it up, the bag will naturally hold in the ethylene gas the fruit will give off and that will help ripen the fruit faster. If you really want to speed this process up, put a banana in the bag too! The more ethylene gas that is created the faster the ripening process will go.

- ⅔ cup flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 3 tsp ground cinnamon
- 10 TBSP cold butter
Glaze
- 1 ½ cups Powdered Sugar

I took about 5 peaches, peeled and sliced them. I put them in a saucepan with just a tiny bit of water and a sprinkle of cinnamon and about 1 Tbsp. of sugar. I then mixed about 1 Tbsp. of corn starch with cold water in a separate bowl. I heated the peaches on medium and added the cornstarch mixture while stirring. Heat until the peaches get soft and the sauce thickens. It's great on a
