We love making ice cream in the summer (and the rest of the year too)! This peach ice cream recipe is so simple and I love that you don’t need an ice cream maker. You do blend it up with an electric mixer for a few minutes and it does take a bit of time since it needs freezing time, but it is really easy to make.
It’s just about the time for peaches and my entire family goes crazy for anything peachy. Fresh peaches are so delicious and it is fun to find new ways to use them all up. We usually get at least a box or two every August and I always intend to freeze some of them, but we end up eating all of them before I get the chance!
What ingredients are in Peach Ice Cream?
Peach Ice Cream is made with fresh peaches, sugar, a can of sweetened condensed milk and real whipped cream. That’s it!
How to make homemade Peach Ice Cream
Peel the peaches and dice them. In a small bowl, combine the chopped peaches with sugar and water and mash. You can use a fork if the peaches are really soft, or you can do what I did and use a potato masher – it worked great! You don’t want to completely mash them, especially if you want some larger pieces of peaches in your ice cream.
Once the peaches are mashed, drain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer, reserving the juice. I strained the mixture several times to get most of the moisture out of it. You should have 3/4 cup of juice, but if you have a little bit less than that, add a little bit of water to bring the liquid to 3/4 cup. I usually have a little bit more, so I have to dump the extra juice out!
Combine the mashed peaches, the reserved juice and the sweetened condensed milk and mix with a spoon just until combined. Pour into a shallow pan – I use an 8X8 square pan. The shallower the pan, the faster the mixture will freeze. Freeze until firm – at least 3-4 hours.
Break the frozen mixture into chunks and place in a bowl for about 10-15 minutes to soften a little bit. Use an electric mixer to beat the mixture for several minutes. Whip a cup of whipping cream and fold it into the peach mixture. Pour back into the pan to freeze until firm before scooping and serving.

How do you whip cream?
Whipping cream is easy to do, especially if you know a little trick! Use a metal bowl and freeze it for at least 30 minutes before whipping the cream. This cuts so much time from the process! Before I learned this trick, it would take 8-10 minutes of beating the cream before it would get stiff, but now it only takes 3-4 minutes!
Place the whipping cream in the bowl immediately after removing the bowl from the freezer. Use an electric mixer turned up fairly high to beat the whipped cream. The whipped cream is ready when stiff peaks form as you lift up the beaters.
Make sure to use a fairly large bowl, even if you don’t have much cream – it does tend to splatter if your bowl isn’t big enough! You can whip the cream a few hours or even a couple of days in advance – just store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
What is the easiest way to peel peaches?
It’s easy to just cut the skin off of peaches if you only need one or two, but if you are planning to remove the skin from a lot of peaches, there is an easier way!
- Boil a pot full of water
- Immerse ripe peaches for 30-60 seconds.
- Remove from water. You can submerge the peaches in cold water, but if you’re planning on cooking the peaches anyways, it’s not necessary and eliminates a step, making the process faster.
- Pinch the skin to break it and slide it off the peach.
- Cut the peach in half and remove the pit.
You can even watch a video here that shows just how easy this is – the skin really does just slide right off!

I have been riding past Chick fil a because I love the peach milkshakes that they are selling and I have not been a good girl this summer. Now I see this. I believe it’s a sign from God. I have to make this. 😋
