Peaches and Cream Salad comes together in just a few minutes with only 4 ingredients! It’s the perfect recipe for using up all of those delicious fresh peaches and can be served as a side dish or even dessert!
For years, one of my favorite go-to recipes has been our Raspberry Vanilla Jello Salad, which has been a reader favorite as well! This salad comes together in just a few minutes and can be served immediately or made in advance which is so convenient when you need to bring something to a potluck or party at the last minute. I decided to try a peach version of this recipe and this Peaches and Cream Salad is just as good as the raspberry one! Actually, I think it would be amazing to combine the two-yum!
How do you make the best peach salad?
You need to use fresh peaches to make the very best Peaches and Cream Salad! The raspberry version uses frozen raspberries and I tried this version with frozen peaches but the consistency of the peaches was a little bit off. I’ve been waiting for peach season to come around to make this with fresh peaches, and the results are amazing! You can add even more peaches than the recipe calls for and the salad will just be even better!
Can you make Peaches & Cream salad in advance?
Peaches & Cream Salad will stay good in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 days and honestly, I like making it at least a day before serving because the peach flavor has more time to combine with the vanilla flavor. However, one of my favorite parts about this recipe is that you can make it 5 minutes before you need to eat it and it’s delicious that way too!

Where can you serve Peaches & Cream Salad?
This recipe is always a huge hit at potlucks and parties – everyone loves it! It’s the perfect dish to take when you need to throw something together at the last minute. This dish is sweet enough to work as a dessert, although sometimes we serve it alongside a meal, especially on special occasions. The Raspberry version of this recipe has become one of our traditional Thanksgiving dishes – although now that my kids have tried the Peaches and Cream version, we may have to swap that out this year!
What are some variations of Peaches & Cream Salad?
As I mentioned before, I think it would be delicious to combine both raspberries and peaches in this recipe, so that is next on my list to try. The original recipe calls for vanilla pudding and vanilla yogurt, but you can definitely play around with the flavors a little bit. You can swap in a little bit of peach yogurt for a peachier taste, or try using cheesecake pudding instead of vanilla for a bit of a different flavor. I love how versatile this recipe is!
Can you replace the Cool Whip in Jello Salad?
If you can’t find Cool Whip where you live or you prefer not to use it in recipes, you can use stabilized whipped cream instead. If you just use regular whipped cream, the consistency will be too light and the cream will not hold up very well when mixed into the jello salad. It’s very simple to make your own stabilized whipped cream and it just takes a few minutes!
See Homemade Whipped Cream recipes here.
How do you make stabilized whipped cream?
To make stabilized whipped cream, you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 ounces of cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- Beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla until soft and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream just until soft peaks form.
- Add the cream cheese mixture to the whipped cream and beat until stiff peaks are formed. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
A little tip for making whipped cream faster. Use a metal bowl for whipping the cream and place the bowl in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you make the whipped cream. This will significantly decrease the amount of time that you will need to beat the whipped cream – the process will go much faster!

What can I use besides yogurt?? I hate yogurt.
Nellie says
I’m not sure what the best option is for replacing the yogurt since there really isn’t anything similar enough to replace it with! If it’s just the consistency of yogurt that you don’t like, you may still like this salad because the addition of the pudding and whipped topping changes the consistency so you really can’t even tell that it’s yogurt!

I’am just now starting to try out recipes, so am kind of nervous about trying new things. I was wondering do you cook the peaches if you do for long. Or do you just peel the peaches and cut them. Thank you for any help you can give me.
Nellie says
Yolanda- this recipe is super easy so don’t be nervous! You don’t need to cook the peaches at all – just peel them and chop them up!
Rhonda Johnson says
If it’s at a time of the year and fresh peaches aren’t available to me, can i substitute canned peaches?
Nellie says
You can use canned peaches, just make sure they are drained really well so that there isn’t any extra moisture. I would even pat them dry for a little bit with a paper towel to absorb the extra liquid so that the salad doesn’t get soupy. Enjoy!
Bernice says
Can you used cans peaches in this recipe?
Nellie says
Canned peaches should work fine, just make sure to drain them really well so that the salad isn’t too runny! Enjoy!
Pamela says
I was just going to ask the same question, as I don’t have any fresh peaches, and a neighbor gave me two small cans of peaches.
I just realized I don’t have any vanilla yogurt either 😞.
Would it be okay to leave it out?
Ugh! I will be glad when this pandemic is over and I don’t have to feel rushed to get in and out of the store so quickly and forget things!!!
Thanks for your help and hope and pray 🙏 everyone is safe and well!!!
Christine Dearing says
Do you use the pudding mix raw or do you mix it by the recipe on the box.
Nellie says
Christine- just put the dry pudding mix in!
Denise says
if using the canned peaches, how many cans would you use or how many ounces? this looks so good, thank you!
Nellie says
I would probably use 2 regular sized cans of peaches? You can definitely add more if you think there aren’t enough in there! Just make sure to drain them really well!
Denise says
thank you!

This is our “go to” recipe to bring for potlucks. My daughter and I make it all the time and laugh when we call it “salad.” We love to make the pudding mixture a day ahead of time because we like the texture better the second day. Just fold in your fruit, or sometimes we have it plain. Our favorite combinations are vanilla Greek style yogurt and either the white chocolate or cheesecake pudding (don’t seem to ever find those two flavors in a large box so we use 2 of the smaller. Works perfectly.)

This is the best dessert! Simple and doesn’t take a lot of time to make. It’s also delicious – thank you!
Alison says
Thank you Kristina!

I’ve always loved ambrosia salad and this peach version is amazing!

Fruit salads are the best, and this peaches and cream version is my favorite one yet!
Mary Young says
Will fresh peaches retain their fresh look or do you toss a little ‘fruit fresh’ on ’em before adding to the cream mixture? It looks delicious.
Nellie says
Fresh peaches hold up pretty well without adding anything to them. Hope you enjoy this salad as much as we do!
Danielle says
Could you do pineapple or strawberries to change it up a bit? I
Alison says
Yes for sure!
Carol nauman says
Can you freeze any of your peaches/ raspberry etc?
Nellie says
I’m not sure what you’re asking. You can use frozen fruit in the salad, but I wouldn’t recommend freezing the salad after making it.
Evelyn Myskiw says
This recipe is great. Will keep it on the top of my list.
