Easy Jello Milkshakes made with ice cream, milk and any flavor of Jello. Colorful and delicious homemade milkshake recipe that the whole family will enjoy!
We LOVE jello! I’m guessing you feel the same too! Be sure to check out our AMAZING COLLECTION OF JELLO RECIPES here!
Anyone else about to die from the heat this summer?! It was 117° here a few days ago!!! We have pretty much decided that until the temperature is below 100°, we will only be eating foods that are still frozen upon consumption. That pretty much leaves ice cream, frozen desserts and milkshakes. I’m guessing we have about 6 weeks left before we can eat real food again, so I’ve been trying to get creative with some cold recipes. And these Jello milkshakes are amazing! Only take about 2 minutes to make and you can make any flavor you want!
What flavors of Jello can you make homemade milkshakes with?
Any flavor works, but we love cherry, watermelon and strawberry the best. The fun part about these milkshakes is that you can combine flavors, or make flavors that color coordinate with whatever occasion or holiday you are celebrating. Cherry and lime jello for Christmas, strawberry and blue raspberry Jello for the 4th of July….you get the idea! This is the perfect milkshake recipe for parties – it is so easy to make multiple flavors!
Ingredients in Easy Jello Milkshakes
Milk – Any variety of milk will work. We usually use 1% because that’s what we have on hand, but you can use skim milk, whole milk, almond milk, rice milk…whatever you’d like!
Jello – You just need 1 small (3 oz) box per batch. Use any flavor you want or mix and match if you are feeling really creative. I haven’t tried using sugar free Jello, but I would imagine it would work just fine too!
Vanilla ice cream – You need 1 pint of vanilla ice cream. That’s 2 cups. And the recipe makes 4 conservative servings, 2 servings if you really like a big milkshake. If you want to use an entire half gallon of ice cream, that’ll have 4 pints in it. So you would need 4 boxes of Jello.

Do I have to use vanilla ice cream to make a milkshake?
Also, to get the full taste of the Jello, you use vanilla ice cream, but if you are feeling crazy, you could probably find some fun ice cream flavor/Jello combinations that would be delicious. Maybe chocolate ice cream with cherry Jello? Or raspberry? Or maybe use strawberry ice cream with strawberry Jello for double the strawberry flavor? The possibilities are endless…let us know if you get creative and come up with something amazing!

Wonder if the chocolate or vanilla instant pudding mixes would work. Have you experimented with those?

I haven’t tried that, but it sounds like a great idea!
