Stuffed Cheeseburger Rolls Ingredients
Burger bites
Dinner rolls. You will need 20 frozen dinner rolls for this recipe. I prefer to use the Rhodes brand, but any brand will work just fine.
Ground beef. Use 1 pound of ground beef to fill the rolls with.
Onion. You will need 1/2 cup of chopped onion, you can use white or yellow onions.
Garlic. For added flavor, add in 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. You can use jarred garlic or freshly minced depending on what you have on hand.
Steak seasoning. To enhance the flavors in the filling, you will want to use 1 tablespoon of steak seasoning or seasoning salt (pick your favorite blend).
Worcestershire sauce. Adding in 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce will give you a great depth of flavor.
Cheese. To make it more of a cheeseburger, you will need 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
Cream cheese. Use 2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese to get a rich and creamy mixture.
Bacon. Mixing in 4 tablespoons of chopped cooked bacon will take the filling to the next level. I like to buy bacon bits, but you can fry up and chop fresh bacon if desired.
Pickles. In traditional burger toppings, we have pickles, so you will want to use 1/4 cup of chopped small dills, dill slices, or pickle spears.
Ketchup. Use 1/4 cup of ketchup for added flavor.
Mustard. Add in 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard for added tanginess.
Egg wash: You will need 1 egg that has been beaten and mixed with 1 teaspoon of cold water. This will give us a golden color on the rolls when they bake.
Sesame seeds. For topping our cheeseburger bites, you will want to use 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds because burger buns usually have sesame seeds on top.
Dipping sauce
Mayo. You will need 1 cup of mayonnaise for the base of the sauce recipe.
Mustard. Use 1 teaspoon of mustard to add a nice tangy flavor to the dipping sauce.
Ketchup. Add in 2 teaspoons of ketchup for a little sweetness and color.
Worcestershire sauce. Adding in a depth of flavor is 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
Seasonings. You will need 1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder and onion powder. This will make the sauce so flavorful.
Pickles. Add 1 tablespoon of sweet pickle relish to give the sauce a little texture, sweetness, and crunch. Now it will feel like a perfect burger sauce.
How to make easy Cheeseburger Rolls
Thaw rolls
Begin by placing your rolls onto a parchment paper-lined pan and cover them lightly with a towel. Allow the bread to thaw and rise about halfway.
Make filling
Then, prep the onions and get them chopped into small pieces. If you are using fresh garlic, mince that as well, don’t forget the pickles too, get those diced into small pieces if you are including those in this recipe. Lastly, get the bacon cooked and chopped too if you are using fresh bacon.
Next, start cooking the ground beef, chopped onions, and minced garlic in a pan over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink.
Proceed to add in the seasoning salt and Worcestershire sauce until combined. Next, add in the shredded cheese, softened cream cheese, cooked and chopped bacon, chopped pickles, ketchup, and Dijon mustard. Stir until well mixed.
Assemble
After the meat is cooked and ready, flatten the rolls one at a time into a circle.
Then, spoon a heaping tablespoon of the meat filling into the center of the flattened dough. Pinch up the dough’s sides and roll it up and over the meaty filling, pinch the seams to seal the sides well. Make sure to shape them into a ball.
Place the rolls onto a parchment lined baking sheet and repeat until all rolls have been stuffed.
Whip up the egg wash and brush the top of each roll with it and sprinkle on the sesame seeds. Let them rise on the counter for 15 minutes.
Bake
Start preheating the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the rolls with burger mixture into the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, prepare the sauce by mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl until well mixed.
Let the rolls cool for 5 minutes, then serve with the dipping sauce and enjoy.

Why won’t my bread rolls flatten?
You want to make sure that the frozen dinner rolls have been thawed and risen about halfway, meaning that they didn’t fully double in size but have grown in size. This will show that the dough is warm enough to be no longer frozen in the centers and can be easier to flatten into discs. You can press the dough flat and stretch it out to make a wide circle to fill at this point.
How long are leftover cheeseburger balls good for?
These stuffed burgers are good for up to 5 days, if kept stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
Can I freeze cheeseburger bites?
Yes, you can freeze these bites for up to 3 months in an airtight container. Just make sure to thaw and reheat again before serving.
