STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE COBBLER
This simple strawberry cobbler uses fresh strawberries, cream cheese and a simple crust recipe. The dessert comes together so easily and quickly. This dessert is absolutely delicious served warm with whipped cream!
Ingredients in Strawberry Cream Cheese Cobbler
Butter – For best results, use real butter. Make sure to melt the butter before adding to the pan. I like to melt my butter in the microwave – so easy!
Egg – Only 1 egg is needed to bind everything together. Crack the egg into a small bowl and slightly beat it with a fork before adding to the other ingredients.
Milk – Any type of milk will work. Skim, whole, 2%, or even a non-dairy alternative will provide the necessary liquid for the recipe.
Flour – All-purpose flour works best in this recipe.
Sugar – Just a cup of sugar provides the needed sweetness for the cobbler.
Baking powder – Two teaspoons of baking powder act as the leavening agent in the cobbler. For best results, make sure that your baking powder isn’t old or expired.
Salt – Just a half teaspoon of salt will help all of the other flavors to pop!
Strawberries – You will need about 2 quarts of strawberries. You will need to wash them, remove the stems and cut them in half. If fresh strawberries aren’t in season, you can use frozen strawberries instead.
Cream cheese – The recipe calls for 4 ounces of cream cheese (half a brick). You will want to chop the cream cheese into small pieces so you can sprinkle them evenly on top of the cobbler. Cream cheese is easier to cut when cold.

Can you use frozen strawberries instead of fresh?
I love using fresh strawberries in this cobbler recipe, but you can definitely use frozen strawberries instead. If you use whole strawberries, thaw them for just a few minutes and cut in half before adding to the recipe. Or you can use frozen sliced strawberries and save yourself some time – no need to cut them up!
Can you use a different kind of fruit in cobbler?
You can use any type of berry or combination of berries in this cobbler recipe without having to change anything else. Raspberries, blueberries or blackberries all work amazingly!
What type of cream cheese to use in Strawberry Cream Cheese Cobbler?
I usually use regular cream cheese, but you can use low-fat or even a non-fat variety if you prefer. Feel free to add more than 4 ounces – it really does taste so good when it is baked in with the strawberries!
CAN COBBLER BE MADE AHEAD OF TIME?
Cobbler can be made ahead of time and baked in advance. Serving it cold is still good but the crust will soften up a bit when refrigerated. For that reason, you may want to reheat it in the oven to warm the dessert back up and get the crust to crisp up again. You can also warm up each individual serving in the microwave right before serving.
HOW DO YOU STORE STRAWBERRY COBBLER?
You should keep your cherry cobbler inside of the fridge in an airtight container. If your baking dish has a tight-fitting lid, this would be the perfect solution. Just make sure that your cobbler has completely cooled before placing it in the fridge.
HOW DO YOU REHEAT STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE COBBLER?
To reheat your chocolate cherry cobbler inside of the oven, bake it uncovered at 375° F for about 20-25 minutes, or until it is bubbling. Place it in the oven before preheating so that the cold baking dish doesn’t explode from the sudden change of cold to hot. The oven and baking dish will warm up together.
DOES COBBLER FREEZE WELL?
Cobbler freezes very well. Just keep your already baked strawberry cobbler inside of an airtight container and freeze it for up to 1 month. Then thaw and reheat when you want to eat it.
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE WHIPPED CREAM

Classic whipped cream is so easy to make!
CLASSIC WHIPPED CREAM
- 1 pint heavy cream (2 cups)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Pour heavy cream into mixing bowl. Mix using a stand mixer or hand mixer for 3-4 minutes at medium high – high speed, until mixture thickens. When you pull the whisk up, the cream should form peaks that maintain their shape.
