3-Ingredient Strawberry Cupcakes are made with just 3 ingredients. Mix a cake mix, a can of strawberry pie filling, and 3 eggs together to make delicious cupcakes. Eat them just like that, or squirt a dollop of whipped cream on top before serving. Light, low-fat cupcakes that are absolutely delicious and only take a few minutes of prep time to make.

White cake mix – One box of cake mix is needed to make these simple strawberry cupcakes. You can use any other flavor that you’d like.
Pie filling – A 21 ounce can of strawberry pie filling is needed to provide the moisture and strawberry flavor in the cupcakes. Once again, you can switch this up and use any flavor of pie filling you choose. Cherry, blackberry, mixed berry, apple, lemon…they are all delicious!
Eggs – 3 large eggs will bind everything together and allow the cupcakes to cook properly. Make sure to beat the eggs before mixing them with the other ingredients.
Whipped cream – If you want a simple “frosting” for the cupcakes, just squirt some whipped cream on top. The kind in the can will be the prettiest, but you can use a dollop of Cool Whip if you prefer.
Strawberries – These are also completely optional, but sliced strawberries or whole strawberries are perfect for placing on top of the whipped cream.
HOW TO MAKE 3-INGREDIENT STRAWBERRY CUPCAKES
Preheat oven to 350° and add 24 muffin liners to a muffin pan.
Combine the cake mix, pie filling, and eggs in a blender (or with an electric mixer) until well combined. Fill each muffin liner about ¾ full.
Bake for 22-24 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Cool completely and then add whipped cream and fresh strawberries right before serving. You could also top with a buttercream or cream cheese frosting if you prefer!

CAN YOU MAKE OTHER FLAVORS OF 3-INGREDIENT CUPCAKES?
One of my favorite things about this recipe is how versatile it is! You can use any flavor of cake mix and any flavor of pie filling that you want. Use a chocolate cake mix with cherry or raspberry pie filling. Or lemon cake mix with raspberry or blueberry pie filling. Or spice cake mix with apple pie filling. So many delicious possibilities!
CAN YOU FREEZE CUPCAKES?
You can definitely freeze the cupcakes, but wait to frost them until after they are thawed. I like to place the cupcakes in a single layer in a Ziplock freezer bag and make sure all of the air is out of the bag before freezing. To thaw, leave the cupcakes at room temperature for about an hour.
