Air Fryer Donuts with Biscuits
While there is nothing stopping you from making homemade yeast doughnuts, we have to admit that canned biscuits make life rather simplified. Canned biscuit donut recipes like EASY 15-MINUTE DONUTS help to reduce the effort and time needed to produce warm fresh fried donuts. The Air Fryer gives us the same results, but without the greasy heaviness, you can get from deep frying. If you are anything like my family, any reason to enjoy donuts is reason enough for us. And with this simple recipe you can whip up a batch quickly and easily!
Why we think you will love this amazing donut recipe
If you are not already gathering the few ingredients to make this treat, here are some reasons to convince you to do so.
- They’re lower in fat! Grease/oil = fat, and with most donut recipes, you would need several inches of oil in a pot. With the air fryer, we can remove the need for oil and make these donuts feel lighter and healthier.
- They are made quickly. How long would it take to drive to the local donut shop for a fresh batch of donuts? Can you guarantee that they are still soft and warm? This recipe can produce several donuts and some air fryer cinnamon sugar donut holes in just a few minutes. Soft, warm, and rolled in spiced sugar.
- It’s a simple recipe. This recipe only needs 4 ingredients and a few minutes of time. No real effort is necessary, thanks to the air fryer, so enjoy a tasty batch of donuts for breakfast or a sweet treat after a long day.
Cinnamon Donut Ingredients
Biscuits-You will need an 8-count can of your favorite refrigerator biscuit dough. We like to use the Pillsbury Flaky biscuits, they turn out amazing.
Sugar– Use ⅓ cup of granulated sugar for the sweet donut coating.
Cinnamon– Adding 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon to the sugar will make it nicely spiced and inviting.
Butter– You will need 2 tablespoons of melted butter to help get the cinnamon sugar coating to adhere to your cooked donuts.
How to make Easy Cinnamon Donuts
Start by unwrapping the biscuits and place them all on a flat surface.
Then, use a small cookie cutter, or any small cutter, to cut holes out of the centers of the biscuits and separate the holes from the rings. This creates the donut shape, you can also make donut holes with the cut out part if you’d like.
Proceed to place the donut rings into the air fryer and cook at 370 degrees F for about 4 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked through. Depending on how big your air fryer is, you might have to cook a couple at a time.
Continue to repeat this process for the donut holes, these will take less time, check on them around the 2 minute mark.
Donut dipping
In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar until well mixed.
Next, put the butter in a microwave safe bowl and heat until it is fully melted. Proceed to brush the melted butter on top of the cooked donuts to coat them fully.
Continue to dip the donuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture and cover them well.
Repeat for all of the donuts and holes.
Serve immediately and enjoy!

What can I use if I don’t have a small round cookie cutter?
Any small round shape can work well. You can use a shot glass instead of a cookie cutter if you don’t have one. Even a kid’s liquid medicine cup works well in a pinch (just make sure it’s clean first).
What if my donuts are not fully cooked?
If you overcrowd your donuts, you will notice that some spots may not be fully cooked with the rest of it. For this reason, it is important not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. You can flip the donuts over and rearrange them to help get more air exposure to the raw spots. Cook for another minute or two and check to see if they’re done. If not, add another minute and repeat.
How long are biscuit donuts good for?
You can keep these cinnamon donuts in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days. These donuts taste best when fresh and warm from the fryer, and it may be hard to keep leftovers on hand for later.
