Triple Berry Green Smoothie made with 4 ingredients in less than 2 minutes. Easy smoothie recipe that is so pretty and purple, no one will ever know there is spinach in there!
Mornings are a little bit crazy around my house since I have five kids that all happen to be at three different schools this year. I feel like I’m training for a marathon by the time I get done packing lunches, driving around town, walking to bus stops and getting everyone out the door!
Smoothies are perfect for busy mornings because they are so fast to make, and they are packed with vitamins. You can make enough for the whole family in just a couple of minutes.
Triple Berry Green Smoothie
I drink green smoothies quite often, but my extremely picky kids just won’t drink them if they are green, so I’ve found ways to make them purple and still sneak in some vegetables. This is a very basic smoothie that is so easy to make but has fruits, veggies and protein as well and my kids love it! Made with orange juice, frozen berries, spinach and Greek yogurt, this smoothie recipe is absolutely delicious.
Ingredients in Triple Berry Green Smoothie
Orange juice – Eight ounces of orange juice makes the perfect base for the smoothie. You can use water or milk or any other type of juice as the liquid for the smoothies. For best results, make sure to put the liquid in the blender first before adding the other ingredients.
Greek yogurt – One small container of vanilla Greek yogurt (about 5-6 ounces) adds creaminess, flavor and protein to the smoothie. You can use plain yogurt if you prefer, but the flavor will be a little less sweet. Any other flavor of yogurt works well too.
Spinach – You will need 1 cup of spinach. You can easily add more if you’d like! To avoid having spinach going bad in the refrigerator, I usually buy the large bags of spinach from Costco. As soon as I get home from the store, I divide the spinach into 1 cup servings and place them in Ziplock bags. I store all of them in the freezer right next to the frozen fruit and it saves even more time when it’s time to make a smoothie.
Frozen mixed berries – I buy frozen mixed berries in a large bag from Costco, but you can swap these out with any type of frozen fruit. You can use fresh fruit if you’d like, but if you do that, add some ice to the blender as well.

Tips for making perfect smoothies
One of the best things about smoothies is how versatile they are. You can throw in pretty much any type of liquid and pair it with any fruit or veggie that you have on hand.
–Orange juice: I have found that orange juice really helps disguise the flavor of any type of veggies, but if you don’t have any orange juice on hand, you can use any type of milk or even water as the base of your smoothie. If you do use water, a little trick I’ve found is to just throw in about 1-2 tablespoons of orange juice concentrate when you make a smoothie. You can keep a can of orange juice concentrate in the fridge and just scoop some out to add flavor to your smoothies.
–Spinach: I usually buy a big bag of spinach from Costco and then freeze 1 cup portions in individual freezer bags so that it is all ready to add to my smoothies in the morning.
–Protein: Using Greek yogurt in the smoothie adds some protein and flavor. You can use any flavor you’d like. For extra protein, you can easily add a scoop of your favorite protein powder. I love to use Clean Simple Eats vanilla protein powder – it’s my favorite!
HOW LONG ARE SMOOTHIES GOOD FOR?
This recipe is meant to be made and enjoyed immediately, it is best when fresh. Because it does not take long to make there is no reason to make and save for later. The smoothies can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a day, but the consistency of the smoothie will become less thick as the smoothie “unfreezes.” If you’d like, you can pour the smoothie into popsicle molds and freeze for up to 2-3 months. My kids love smoothie popsicles!

Such a great idea to freeze 1 cup portions of the spinach! I’m going to start doing that now. I really like how you add in the belVita breakfast biscuits to round out the meal. I drink a lot of smoothies and the whole grains are missing from my breakfasts. [client]
