Melon Lime Smoothie is a simple green-colored smoothie perfect for summer or St Patricks Day. Made with just a couple of ingredients including honeydew melon and lime flavored sherbet, you know this drink is going to be good!
I love “green” smoothies (the kind full of spinach), but my kids won’t drink them unless I use blueberries to turn them purple! I’ve been trying to find a fun drink for St. Patrick’s Day, so when I came across this Melon Lime Cooler recipe, I thought it would be perfect! I’m usually not a huge fan of lime, but I loved this drink and my kids did too!
Honeydew Melon Smoothie
With a little sweetness and tartness in every sip, this is a drink you won’t soon forget. It’s absolutely perfect for when melons are in season making it even more fitting for those hot summer days when you just want a cold refreshing drink to make the heat more bearable. With this honeydew smoothie, you’re sure to get exactly that!
Melon Lime Smoothie Ingredients
–Honeydew: You will need 4 1/2 cups of cubed honeydew melon to give this drink the melon it needs in every glass.
–Lime Sherbet: Using 1 1/2 cups of lime-flavored sherbet will give us a cold drink that’s creamy and sweet. This is also where a lot of our green coloring will come from.
–Lime Juice: Use 2 tablespoons of lime juice to help make this drink taste a bit more fresh.
–Cold Water: You will need about 1/2 cup of cold water to help this drink get to the perfect sipping consistency.
How to Make Melon Lime Smoothie
Freeze Melon
Place your cubed honeydew melon onto a baking sheet in a flat and even layer and cover with a piece of plastic wrap. Place them into the freezer to chill for about 30 minutes until firm.
Blend
Add the water to the blender, followed by the melon, sherbet, and lime juice.
Blend together until smooth.
Serve
Divide the mixture between your drinking glasses. Add straws if desired.
Serve immediately.
Enjoy!

Do I need to freeze the honeydew before making this smoothie?
While freezing the melon is recommended for creamier chilled results you do not have to freeze the melon beforehand. If you use ice-cold water or add some crushed ice to your blender you should get similar results.
What can I add to melon lime smoothie?
You can add in some fresh strawberries (washed and hulled) for a fruitier taste or if you want to keep the drink festive and green go ahead and add in some Kiwi fruit instead.

The plate is made by "the Spring shop"….I got it at Hobby Lobby a couple of months ago! I think that brand is exclusive to them, and they had tons of coordinating dishes/decor items!
