The BEST Watermelon Sorbet Recipe
The watermelon at my local store has been amazing this summer – I think I have purchased one every time I’ve gone grocery shopping (which ends up being at least twice a week most of the time)! So you can imagine how many times we’ve enjoyed this sorbet this summer. The good news is that watermelon freezes really well so any melon we don’t eat gets tossed into the freezer for future recipes.
This sorbet is so easy to make and I love that it is packed with two of my favorite fruits and a little bit of sugar and water. The process for making this creamy dessert is really simple. The hard part is waiting a few hours for the sorbet to firm up in the freezer, but if you prep this treat in the cool mornings, by the time the hot afternoon comes along you’ll have a treat ready to eat!

How to make Watermelon Berry Sorbet
Prep
Start by bringing the water and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Let it boil while stirring for about 2-3 minutes until all the sugar has dissolved. Remove the pan from the heat and allow it to rest and cool for about 15 minutes.
While the sugar mixture is cooling, prepare your fruit. Cut the watermelon into about 1-2″ size cubes that will blend well. Also, wash and remove the stems from the strawberries. Slice any large berries in half to make the blending process easier.
Blend
Next, add the cooled sugar & water mixture, watermelon chunks, and sliced strawberries to the blender and mix on medium-high speed until the mixture is nice and smooth.
Strain
After that, run the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any seeds or chunks.
Proceed to pour the sorbet mixture into an 8×8 baking dish and place it in the freezer for about 3 hours or until the sorbet is firm.
Serve
When you are ready to serve, remove the sorbet from the freezer and place it on the counter for about 5-10 minutes to soften slightly before scooping and serving.
Then scoop the sorbet into individual serving dishes and enjoy immediately!
