You’re going to love these easy breakfast skewers, and so will your kids! From the sausage to the pancakes and the fresh fruit in between. Serve with maple syrup for a low maintenance breakfast that everyone can enjoy.
As anyone with kids can tell you, some mornings can get a little bit crazy, especially school mornings! I like to provide my kids with something more filling than cold cereal, but to be honest, we usually don’t have a lot of time to make a big breakfast.
Although you can eat the Foster Farms® Pancake Wraps straight off the stick, I decided to slice them up, add a little fruit and put it all on a skewer for an easy, balanced breakfast that was fun for my kids.
Breakfast on a Stick
When there’s not much time on the clock, and the kids are in need of something for breakfast, you really can’t go wrong with this simple recipe. Made in minutes and always a crowd favorite, this is a great change of pace from the standard breakfast foods and a great way to get the kids excited to eat too!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Sticks are portable. Ever have no time to finish your morning meal, leaving you with the option of packing it up or leaving it to spoil? This breakfast is just as great at the dining table as it is in the parking lot. The sticks make them handheld meals that can go anywhere you do.
- They’re healthy. Compared to the other sugary breakfast dishes you could serve up, this meal consists of fresh fruits, protein, and more.
- The kids will love them! My girls loved the idea and were so excited about everything being on a stick, they didn’t even think to ask for syrup which is an added bonus in my book….syrup is just so sticky!
Brunch Skewer Ingredients
Pancakes on a stick- We used 2 Foster Farms Turkey Sausage and Pancakes on a Stick, but you can use any brand or flavored variety that you want.
Strawberries– 4 freshly sliced strawberries will add natural sweetness and color.
Banana– You will only need 1 ripe banana that has been sliced into coins about the same thickness as the strawberries.
Wooden skewers- While this isn’t an ingredient, you will need some (about 4) kabob skewers so that there is something for the cut pancake wrap and fruit to go onto.
Maple syrup– This is optional, but you may wish to have some maple syrup for dipping or drizzling over your skewers.
How to Make Easy Breakfast Skewers
First, cook 2 of your pancake wrapped sausages and place them on a microwave safe plate.
Heat as directed according to the package directions and give them a moment to cool so that they are safe to handle.
Meanwhile, wash your strawberries and dry them off on a paper towel.
Slice the strawberries and the bananas into coins about 1/4 inch thick. Set aside.
Pull the sticks out of the pancakes and onto a cutting board. Slice them into 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick coins.
Take your wooden skewers and now alternate adding the strawberries, bananas, and pancakes. I like to place the tip of the strawberries on the tops like a little rocketship or hat.
Serve your skewers with maple syrup if you want to.
Enjoy!

Where do you find frozen pancake wraps?
We had a little bit of an adventure finding the Foster Farms® Pancake Wraps at Walmart – I was looking next to the frozen waffles and sausage for a while before I realized they were on the next aisle over near the corn dogs! Make sure to look in the right spot!
Can I make these in advance?
Unfortunately, this breakfast recipe is best when it’s made and served immediately. If you allow it to be made too far in advance, the sausage and pancakes will be cold and possibly soggy from being in contact with the wet fruits for too long.
