Recipes for 3 Donuts
Easy 15-Minute Donuts areΒ a favorite in our family, so I am always looking for fun, delicious recipes to make. I began making variations of these Easy 15 Minute Donuts years ago and they are always a hit. I have adapted a basic glaze recipe to work for all 3 of these recipes, they all have butter, powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup. Then to each separate recipe you add one or two additional items to achieve the lovely flavor. The glazes set up but still look smooth and glossy on the donuts, which I love. They taste great and are pretty, give them a try and you will see for yourself!

How do you make homemade donuts?
It is so simple! I have made a variety of donut recipes from scratch and they are fabulous, but I find it just works with our family right now to use canned biscuit dough as a starter. You can fry them up, then add whatever type of glaze you like the best. You will be surprised at how amazing they taste too. Scroll down to see several recipes I love.
How do you make glazed donuts?
Glazed donuts are among my favorite morning treats and glazes are super easy to make. Below I share 3 recipes that all begin with powdered sugar, milk and a tiny amount of corn syrup. These ingredients are the base, then you can get creative from there. My all-time favorite is the maple glaze and my kids love the chocolate, it’s great they are so simple to make so we can all have our favorite flavor.
How do you make a donut?
When you go to make a donut, shaping the actual donuts is easy. For my maple bars, I just stretch the biscuit dough until it is more oval rather than circular. For circle donuts, I like to cut the middle out using my Atecco Cutters. Since donuts rise and expand when cooking, it is a good idea to make the inside hole a little larger than you would think. I like to use the 2nd smallest cutter to make a donut. You can also make some donut holes using the cut out dough, fun!

Where can I find the maple bar/donut/cinnamon roll basic recipe? I want to make them for some friends for this coming week. They have never had these.
Jessica says
Hi Wanda– I’m a little confused as to what you’re looking for. The link to the Maple Bars recipe is in the post– https://butterwithasideofbread.com/easy-15-minute-maple-bars/
Let me know if I misunderstood your question!
Jack R. says
I have been making these for 40 years. Try the FLAKY biscuits also –they make good doughnuts. Forget the fancy hole cutter– I use a 2 Liter bottlecap that I keep in the drawer. Put some Cinnamon & granulated sugar in a baggy , put a few donuts in & shake lightly. Or can put powdered sugar in another baggy.
Jessica says
Great ideas- thank you Jack!!
Constance says
you have to look at the video for the “hack”! I have been doing donuts like this for 30+ years! canned biscuits with a hole torn in the middle and fried! Absolutely original!
Christine baker says
In uk can only find croissant dough donβt sell anything else, can I use?
Nicole says
I think the croissant dough should still work just fine with this recipe. It may be a bit lighter in texture but the flavors should still be pretty great.
