Since then, the recipe has evolved, and many variations of the pie can now be found. Many restaurants and bakers offer their own variations of the pie, often incorporating unique flavors and ingredients.
Peppermint cream pie is typically made with a graham cracker crust and a creamy peppermint filling. Some variations of the pie include chocolate, while others incorporate other flavors such as vanilla or cinnamon. The pie is often garnished with crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings. We’ve chosen to top ours with sweet gum drops, mint leaves and red hot candies for a beautiful and festive appearance!
Serving and Presentation for Peppermint Cream Pie
- Slicing the Pie: When serving peppermint cream pie, it is important to slice the pie properly to ensure that each slice is consistent and visually appealing. It is recommended to use a sharp knife and to cut the pie into 8 equal slices. This will ensure that each slice has an appropriate amount of filling and crust.
- Garnishing: Garnishing the peppermint cream pie can add an extra touch of visual appeal to the dessert. Some popular garnishes for this pie include additional whipped cream, crushed candy canes, and chocolate shavings. To add whipped cream, use a piping bag or a spoon to add a dollop of whipped cream to each slice. To add crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings, sprinkle them on top of the whipped cream or directly onto the pie.
Overall, serving and presenting peppermint cream pie is a simple process that can be elevated with a few extra touches. By slicing the pie properly and adding garnishes, the dessert can become a visually appealing and delicious addition to any holiday meal.

Milk: To thin out the filling a bit, add in 2 TBSP of milk.
Peppermint extract: You will need ¼ tsp of peppermint extract to flavor the pie filling nicely.

How long is no-bake peppermint pie good for?
No-bake peppermint cream pie can last up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator when stored in an airtight container. It is important to note that the longer the pie sits in the refrigerator, the softer the crust will become. This pie is so easy to make, it is not meant to last for very long after it is made.
Can I freeze this peppermint no-bake pie?
I do not recommend freezing this peppermint cream pie. The texture of the pie will not hold up well when defrosted. Since this dessert recipe is so simple to make, it is intended to make it the day or or day before you are going to serve it.
