Peanut Butter Oreo Balls made with just 4 ingredients for the perfect no bake dessert! Delicious, bite-sized treats that are so easy to make!
We love Oreo Balls because they are so easy to make! The original Oreo Balls are made with cream cheese, but this new version is made with peanut butter. The result is something that tastes quite a bit like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!
Peanut Butter Oreo Balls
This delicious dessert is made by mixing crushed Oreos with peanut butter and powdered sugar. The mixture is scooped and rolled into balls. After freezing for about 30 minutes, dip the balls into melted chocolate. If you’d like, you can drizzle some white chocolate on top or you can add more crushed Oreos or decorative sprinkles if you’d like. Different colored sprinkles make this little treat absolutely perfect for pretty much any holiday or event! Once the chocolate has set up, serve and enjoy!
Ingredients in Peanut Butter Oreo Balls
Oreo cookies – You will need about 33 Oreo cookies (3 cups crumbs) to make the recipe. A standard 14.3 ounce package has 36 cookies, so you’ll even have a few leftover cookies to eat while you’re making dessert! You don’t need to remove the filling before crushing them up.
Peanut butter – I’ve only tested this with regular peanut butters (Jif, Skippy, etc). You could probably use a more natural peanut butter, but those tend to be a little runnier so maybe reduce the amount just a little bit so that the mixture isn’t too wet.
Powdered sugar – Powdered sugar adds more sweetness, but also helps to absorb some of the moisture of the peanut butter so that the oreo balls aren’t too moist.
Chocolate – You will need about 20 ounces of chocolate to melt. You can use any kind of chocolate you’d like (dark, milk, semi-sweet, white). I like to use almond bark (CandiQuik), but melting wafers or even chocolate chips work well too.
How to make Peanut Butter Oreo Balls
CRUSH THE OREOS
Add Oreos to a food processor or blender and pulse until fine crumbs form.
COMBINE INGREDIENTS
Add Oreo crumbs and peanut butter together in a large mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to mix the ingredients together well. Add the powdered sugar and mix in until well combined.
SCOOP THE OREO BALLS
Use a cookie scoop to scoop out 1 inch balls of the mixture. Roll the balls between your hands and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper. Freeze the balls for at least 30 minutes.
MELT THE CHOCOLATE
Before removing the balls from the freezer, melt the chocolate in a microwaveable dish. Microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until chocolate is melted and smooth.
DIP THE OREO BALLS
Pull out several frozen balls at a time (you want the other ones to stay frozen until you’re ready for them), and dip each one in the melted chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip off and then place each dipped ball onto another baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.
If you want to add sprinkles or crushed Oreos on top, make sure to add those immediately after dipping, before the chocolate sets up. To add a drizzle, melt some white chocolate and place in a ziplock bag with one of the bottom corners snipped.
Peanut Butter Oreo Balls can be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

PEANUT BUTTER OREO BALLS FAQs
WHAT CHOCOLATE IS BEST FOR DIPPING?
When making candy like this I really find that dipping chocolate just works best. However, you can use chocolate chips instead. I find it works best when you add a small amount – about 1/2 tsp- of shortening or coconut oil to the chocolate chips when you melt them in the microwave.
HOW DO YOU MELT CHOCOLATE IN THE MICROWAVE?
Melting chocolate in the microwave is easy if you go slowly. Always use a glass or ceramic bowl and chocolate that’s not old. To melt 1 cup of chocolate chips I’d begin with 1 minute in the microwave. After the 1 minute, let chocolate sit for 2-3 minutes. Then, gently stir and see if chocolate begins to melt smooth. If it’s still really solid, add 20 seconds in the microwave, then let it sit again. Often chocolate looks like it’s not melted when it really is, and you don’t know for sure until you gently stir it. If your chocolate melts but it’s too thick to work with, try adding 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil or shortening, then letting it melt and stirring it in.
How do you crush Oreos for Oreo balls?
Oreo Balls work best when the Oreo cookies have been ground fine and uniform. The best way to do this is by using a blender or food processor. If you don’t have one, you can place Oreos in a ziplock bag and pound them with a meat mallet or the bottom of a glass jar. Just make sure to turn the bag over often and pound the other side, to make sure you’ve gotten all the lumps out.
Can you put Oreos in a blender?
Yes, you can put Oreos in a blender! It’s actually my favorite way to make Oreo Balls. It’s super fast and easy, just put the Oreos in the blender, place the lid on and blitz for a few seconds. That’s it!
HOW LONG DO OREO BALLS LAST IN THE FRIDGE?
Oreo balls can be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Make sure to put them in an airtight container. Oreo balls can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
CAN OREO BALLS BE FROZEN?
Oreo balls can be frozen in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
