What is Cookies & Cream Poke Cake?
This cake is a delicious dessert that brings together the best flavors in life in the form of a poke cake. A poke cake is a cake that has been baked (usually in a 9×13 pan) and then literally poked with the back end of a spoon, toothpick, or finger to create deep wells in the baked cake. On top of that, a liquid mixture is spread over the top allowing it to drip into these deep holes and soak into the cake. Then the cake is given a whipped cream topping and garnished as desired. We took that simple poke cake idea and transformed it into one that brings a sweet chocolate and vanilla cream flavor in every bite.
Cookies & Cream Poke Cake Ingredients
–Cake: You will need a box of chocolate cake mix, baked and prepared as per package directions for a 9×13 baking dish. Let it cool before using.
–Condensed Milk: A 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk will help to provide our cake with sweetness and moisture.
–Pudding Mix: We will need a 4 ounce sized box of Oreos cookies and cream flavored Jello pudding. This helps to bring the cookies and cream flavor into every bite.
–Milk: With 1/2 cup of milk we can really get a good consistency with the topping.
–Oreos: We need about 20 Oreo cookies, crushed. These will be used in the topping and we will use both the white filling as well as the chocolate cookie pieces, so don’t worry about separating them.
–Whipped Topping: With an 8 ounce tub of whipped topping, we get our topping for the cake with little effort needed.
How to Make Cookies & Cream Poke Cake
Let your baked chocolate cake cool for at least 30 minutes before using. Take the back end of a spoon (the handle) and poke it through the top of the cake. You want a lot of holes, but you don’t want them so deep that they poke through the cake. About 2/3rd of the way through is good.
Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the top of the cake.
In a bowl, combine th dry pudding mix with 1/2 cup of milk using a whisk.
Stir in the whipped topping and mix until well combined.
Add in about 1/3 of the crushed Oreos, stirring gently until mixed.
Spread the oreo cookie topping over the cake.
Top with the remaining Oreo cookies.
Chill the cake in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. Enjoy!

How Long is Poke Cake Good for?
Due to the moisture of the cake, it’s best if your poke cake is enjoyed within 2-3 days. After that, it may become too soggy to truly enjoy. Keep it stored covered or in an airtight container in the fridge when not being enjoyed.
Can I freeze poke cake?
Yes, to freeze your poke cake, do it after assembly but before adding cookies to the top for garnish. Wrap and cover the cake well so that it’s as airtight as can be before freezing. then when you’re ready to eat, place it in the fridge for a few hours to thaw and top with Oreo cookies before serving.
