Cream cheese fudge is made with powdered sugar, cream cheese, vanilla extract, unsweetened chocolate and a little bit of milk. You can add nuts if you’d like – either way is delicious. Melt the chocolate and mix everything together. No cooking at all! Just put the mixture in a pan and chill for an hour or two before slicing and serving. Add some Christmas sprinkles to the top and this fudge is perfect for holiday parties and platters.

Chocolate – You need 6 ounces of unsweetened chocolate. This comes in bars that can be found in the baking aisle of the grocery store. Make sure it is unsweetened, because you will be adding a lot of powdered sugar!
Powdered sugar – 6 cups of powdered sugar adds the necessary sweetness and the smooth consistency to the fudge.
Cream cheese – Yep, cream cheese is the secret ingredient in this fudge! It makes the fudge so rich and creamy and allows you to get the right consistency without any cooking needed.
Vanilla extract – Just 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract will add a lot of flavor. The higher the quality of the vanilla, the better.
Milk – Just a few tablespoons of milk will help to thin out the fudge just a little bit. You can use any kind of milk that you have on hand.
HOW TO MAKE CREAM CHEESE FUDGE
Break the unsweetened chocolate into smaller squares and place into a microwavable bowl. Melt the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval until chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
In a large bowl, cream the powdered sugar and cream cheese together with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the vanilla and melted chocolate and mix until smooth. Stir in the milk until completely mixed in.
Press the fudge into an 8X8 pan that is lined with parchment paper. Chill for at least 1-2 hours. Lift the fudge out of the pan and cut into squares.

HOW TO SOFTEN CREAM CHEESE
Cream cheese is easy to soften – you can set it out at room temperature or soften it more quickly in the microwave.
-To soften at room temperature more quickly, just set the cream cheese on a plate and cut into smaller pieces. The cream cheese should reach room temperature in about 15-20 minutes with this method.
-To soften the cream cheese in the microwave, remove the foil packaging and set the cream cheese in a small bowl or on a plate. Microwave for about 10-15 seconds. If the cream cheese is still cold and hard, continue to microwave for about 5 seconds at a time until the cream cheese is soft throughout. Just make sure not to microwave it too long or it will start to melt!
WHEN TO SERVE CHOCOLATE FUDGE
There is absolutely no wrong time for fudge! While fudge is mostly seen gifted and served up around the Christmas holidays and in cookie exchanges, it does just as well being served up for Valentine’s day and anniversaries too. You can serve it up any night of the week or as a simple weekend treat, fudge deserves to be enjoyed all year long!
HOW LONG IS FUDGE GOOD FOR?
Keep your fudge squares in a closed, airtight container and place it in the fridge for up to 1 week. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months. I do not recommend keeping it out at room temperature for too long (more than 2 hours) at a time, it starts to soften up and the consistency gets a bit messy.
CAN YOU FREEZE FUDGE?
Yes, after the candy has completely set, you can safely freeze it in an airtight container for up to 3 months. I like to cut the fudge into squares and then wrap each one in plastic wrap before putting them all in a container or ziplock bag. This way, the fudge doesn’t stick together and it’s easy to grab one piece out at a time…any time you need a sweet treat. Each piece only takes a few minutes at room temperature to thaw out. Although the fudge is pretty yummy frozen too.
