Ingredients in Christmas Cake Batter Fudge
White chocolate chips – You will need a 12 ounce bag of white chocolate chips. You can use milk chocolate, semi-sweet or any other kind of chips you’d like, but obviously that will change the flavor (and color) of the fudge.
Sweetened condensed milk – Use one 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk. You will be mixing this with the chocolate to form the base of the fudge.
Red velvet cake mix – Add 1/3 cup of red velvet cake mix to half of the chocolate mixture to turn it red and add that delicious red velvet cake flavor to the bottom layer of the fudge.
White cake mix – Add 1/3 cup of white cake mix to the other half of the chocolate mixture to form the top layer for the fudge.
Sprinkles -These are completely optional, but make the fudge so festive and fun! You can even change them up for different holidays. This fudge is the perfect color for Valentine’s Day, just use red and pink sprinkles on top!

WHEN TO SERVE CHRISTMAS CAKE BUTTER FUDGE
There is absolutely no wrong time for fudge! While fudge is mostly seen gifted and served up around the Christmas holidays and in cookie exchanges, it does just as well being served up for Valentine’s day and anniversaries too. You can serve it up any night of the week or as a simple weekend treat, fudge deserves to be enjoyed all year long!
CAN YOU USE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CAKE MIX?
Absolutely! You can use any flavors of cake mix that you’d like. Funfetti is a fun flavor. Or white cake mix and chocolate cake mix. Or all red velvet or all white cake mix. You can use lemon, strawberry, orange, spice cake mix… if you can find it at the store, you can try it!
HOW LONG IS FUDGE GOOD FOR?
Keep your fudge squares in a closed, airtight container and place it in the fridge for up to 1 week. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months. I do not recommend keeping it out at room temperature for too long (more than 2 hours) at a time, it starts to soften up and the consistency gets a bit messy.
CAN YOU FREEZE FUDGE?
Yes, after the candy has completely set, you can safely freeze it in an airtight container for up to 3 months. I like to cut the fudge into squares and then wrap each one in plastic wrap before putting them all in a container or ziplock bag. This way, the fudge doesn’t stick together and it’s easy to grab one piece out at a time…any time you need a sweet treat. Each piece only takes a few minutes at room temperature to thaw out. Although it’s pretty yummy frozen too.

What to do with the rest of the cake mixes?
Nicole says
You can add 1/3 cup of flour into the cake mixes and then use as the package directs to actually make the cakes, OR you can make mini mug cakes as a nightly dessert for the next several weeks. Just take 1/4 cup of the dry mix and put it in a mug with about 2 tablespoons of water or milk. Mix together and cook in the microwave for 1 minute on high.
