There’s nothing quite like two incredible desserts merged into one. I mean, who doesn’t love a nice piece of fresh apple pie? Or a cold & creamy milkshake? Put those two together and it’s a win! I had one at Johnny Rockets and it was magical- I knew then I’d have to recreate the masterpiece at home. It’s easy to whip one of these up and it tastes just like apple pie. Enjoy!
Apple Pie Milkshakes
yields about 4 milkshakes
- 1 21-oz can apple pie filling
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 6-8 scoops vanilla bean ice cream
- 1 cup Nilla wafers
- 1-2 TBSP milk, optional
Put about 2/3 of the can of apple pie filling into the blender. Add spices and about 5-6 scoops of ice cream. Depending on your blender, you may have to add a tablespoon or two of milk. (Less milk or no milk yields thicker milkshakes.) Blend for about 30 seconds, until mixture is smooth. Add in 1-2 more scoops of ice cream, the Nilla wafers and all but 4 slices of the apple pie filling. Pulse a few times, just until everything looks fairly incorporated. You want to have small chunks of apples and Nilla wafers. Top with extra cream, a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon and the remaining slices of apple.
