Who else loves chocolate? I have so many favorite chocolate recipes, but there is just something about brownies. There really aren’t many desserts better than a thick, fudgy brownie served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Am I right?
Triple Chocolate Brownies
The only thing better than a brownie is one that is made with 3 different kinds of chocolate. Semi-sweet chocolate is melted down and mixed with butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, cocoa powder and salt. Once the batter is mixed, add some milk chocolate and white chocolate chunks. Bake the brownies and enjoy!
Ingredients in Triple Chocolate Brownies
Unsalted Butter
Half a cup of unsalted butter, chopped, is needed to make the brownies. The butter is melted with the semi-sweet chocolate to form the base of the brownie batter.
Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Four and a half ounces of semi-sweet chocolate, broken into pieces, are melted with the butter to create the rich chocolate flavor of the brownies. You can also use semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Granulated Sugar
Half a cup of granulated sugar is added to the melted chocolate and butter mixture to sweeten the brownies.
Brown Sugar
Half a cup of brown sugar is also added to the melted chocolate and butter mixture to add depth and richness to the brownies. For best results, make sure your brown sugar is soft and fresh.
Eggs
Three eggs are added to the batter to help bind everything together.
Vanilla Extract
A teaspoon of vanilla extract is used to enhance the chocolate flavor of the brownies. The higher the quality of the vanilla, the better.
All Purpose Flour
Three-fourths of a cup of all-purpose flour is added to the batter to provide structure and texture to the brownies.
Cocoa Powder
A quarter cup of cocoa powder is added to the batter to enhance the chocolate flavor and deepen the color of the brownies.
Salt
A teaspoon of salt is added to the batter to balance the sweetness and enhance the chocolate flavor.
Milk Chocolate Chunks
Half a cup of milk chocolate chunks is folded into the batter to add texture and sweetness to the brownies. Milk chocolate chips work great too!
White Chocolate Chunks
Half a cup of white chocolate chunks is also folded into the batter to add a creamy sweetness and contrast to the dark chocolate flavor of the brownies. White chocolate chips work well too!
How to make Triple Chocolate Brownies
Preheat Oven
The first step is to preheat the oven to 320°F.
Prepare Baking Pan
Line an 8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper or spray it with non-stick cooking spray. This will prevent the brownies from sticking to the pan and make it easier to remove them once they are done.
Melt Chocolate and Butter
Place the chopped unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate pieces in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until the chocolate has just melted.
Combine Ingredients
Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the melted chocolate mixture. Mix until well combined.
Mix Dry Ingredients
Add the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt to the mixture. Mix until just combined.
Fold in Chocolate Chunks
Gently fold in the milk chocolate and white chocolate chunks into the batter.
Pour Batter into Pan
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. If desired, sprinkle a few more white chocolate and/or milk chocolate chips on top just before baking.
Bake
Bake for 25 minutes, or until the sides and top have just set but the center is still soft.
Cool and Slice
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 30 minutes before slicing into squares.

- ½ cup milk chocolate chunks
- ½ cup white chocolate chunks

- Add the flour, cocoa powder and salt and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the milk and white chocolate chunks.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. If desired, sprinkle a few more white chocolate and/or milk chocolate chips on top just before baking.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the sides and top have just set but the center is still soft. Allow to cool in the pan for 30 minutes before slicing into squares.

Store these brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
These brownies are suitable for freezing. Freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before enjoying.
BEST PAN FOR BAKING BROWNIES
I’ve baked a lot of brownies and the pan you use matters! I like to use a heavier, more durable pan made from stainless steel, glass or ceramic. I like to use one that has handles for easy oven transfers. If you opt for non-stick, make sure you use a high quality non-stick like ceramic pans as they hold up better over the years. Heavier pans will bake brownies at a more even temperature, although don’t worry, the sides will still get a bit chewier than the rest! Who else likes brownie corners as much as I do?! (Did you know there’s even a pan for baking ALL corner brownies?!)
How to make fudgier brownies
For fudgier brownies, reduce the baking time slightly. For firmer brownies, increase the baking time slightly.
