Spider cake ingredients
For the cake, you will need:
-Flour: You will need 2 cups of all-purpose flour for the base of this cake recipe.
-Sugar: With 2 cups of granulated sugar your cake will be sweet and delicious.
-Baking soda: To help the cake puff up as it bakes use 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
-Salt: This is a natural flavor enhancer and adding in ¾ teaspoons of salt will really make this cake taste wonderful
-Butter: You will need ½ cup of butter to make the cake taste richer.
-Oil: Add in ½ cup of vegetable oil to give the cake even more fats, making it stay moist.
-Cocoa powder: Using ⅓ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder will make the cake chocolate flavored.
-Water and milk: You will need 1 cup of water and ½ cup of milk to help moisten the cake to the perfect consistency.
-Eggs: Use 2 eggs to help the cake get a great texture and binding.
-Vanilla: To help make the cake taste even better add in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
For the glaze, you will need:

How to make spider web cake
Cake
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease and flour the inside of a bundt pan.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
Melt your butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add your oil, cocoa powder, and water to the saucepan and bring the mixture up to a boil while whisking constantly.
Pour the chocolate-butter mixture over the top of the flour mixture and stir to combine.
Next, stir in the milk, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
Pour the mixture into your prepared bundt pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean.
Cool the cake in the pan for 5 minutes before flipping it onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
Glaze
In a microwave-safe bowl add the heavy cream and heat for 2 minutes in the microwave until it’s very hot. You can also just heat it in a pot on the stove until it begins to simmer.
Gently add in the chocolate chips and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
Stir the chocolate chips into the cream until fully incorporated and shiny. Set aside to cool slightly.
For the spiderweb portion, place your marshmallow fluff into a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 10-second intervals until the marshmallows fluff up a bit and then stir until it is a little melted.
Transfer the fluff to a Ziploc bag with a tiny corner snipped off.
When the chocolate ganache has cooled, spoon it over the top of the bundt cake and allow it to drip down the sides slightly.
Next, take the bag of fluff and pipe it on top of the cake in 4 or 5 circles. I like to start with one circle just inside the ring of the cake, then the next spaced 1/4″ out, etc.
Using a toothpick, start from the inside of the cake and drag it up and over the ridge of the cake, downwards, to create a spider web effect. Repeat the process, spacing the webs about 2″ from each other. Top with creepy cute plastic spiders.

How long is this cake good for?
You can get this cake to last for about 3-5 days if stored in an airtight container. This cake will also do best if stored in the fridge to prevent the chocolate glaze from melting but you can leave it at room temperature if it doesn’t get too hot in the room. This cake will only last about 2 days at room temperature.
What if I want a vanilla bundt cake?
To change the flavor of the homemade cake to vanilla all you have to do is omit the cocoa powder. You can then use fun-colored food dyes if desired to really make this cake more festive.
