Pasta is something that we eat a lot of because it’s filling, delicious and perfect for adults and picky kids too! Slow Cooker meals are my favorite because I can do all of the prep work in the morning and have dinner magically ready to eat later in the day! The hour before dinner is one of my busiest times and I usually spend most of it in the car, which makes it pretty tricky to prepare a meal.

INGREDIENTS IN CROCKPOT GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN PASTA
Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Sauce – This is the key ingredient to this pasta. You will need a 12 ounce bottle of the sauce. It is easy to find near the salad dressings at most grocery stores and I’ve always been able to find it at Walmart. If you can’t find this particular brand anywhere, that’s fine! You can find store brand Parmesan Garlic sauce that will work well too. I’ve tried several different brands and I still like the Buffalo Wild Wings the best, but they are all delicious!
Chicken breasts – You will need about 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. You can use thighs or tenders if you prefer.
Milk – Any type of milk is fine. I actually prefer 1% or 2% because it makes the sauce a little runnier, but you can even use cream if you like your sauce really rich and creamy!
Cream cheese – Any variety of cream cheese is fine (non-fat, low-fat or regular). The cream cheese will melt into the sauce better if you cut it into small squares before adding to the other ingredients.
Parmesan cheese – You can use grated parmesan from a jar if you’d like. I prefer to use freshly grated Parmesan, but it’s totally up to you!
Pasta – I like this recipe with rotini, but any small, bite-sized pasta will do!

HOW TO MAKE GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN PASTA ON THE STOVE
I’ve made this recipe many times on the stove and it works great too! In a large pot, whisk the sauce, milk, cream cheese and parmesan together over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and let the sauce simmer until all the cheese is melted.
While the sauce is simmering, cook the pasta in a separate pot according to the package directions. After the sauce has simmered for about 10-15 minutes, add shredded chicken. You can make your own shredded chicken or just use rotisserie chicken (that’s what I do!). Once the pasta is cooked and drained, add to the sauce and then serve!
HOW TO COOK PASTA PERFECTLY EVERY TIME
Pasta is pretty simple to cook, but there are a few little tricks to making sure it turns out perfect every time!
- Make sure you use a large enough pot to boil your noodles in. If it is too small, you may find that your noodles stick together and you may run out of water before the noodles are completely cooked. To cook one pound of pasta, you should be using at least 4-6 quarts of water. Make sure your pot is big enough to hold the water and the pasta and be able to boil without boiling over. Remember, pasta expands as it cooks!
- Add some salt to the water. Adding salt increases the boiling point of the water, meaning that the water will boil faster and also helps the pasta cook a little bit faster too. I usually add about a tablespoon of salt.
- Test the pasta. Even though there are recommended cooking times for each type of pasta, the only fool-proof method I have found to make sure pasta is done perfectly is to taste test it. About a minute before the recommended cooking time, I use a slotted spoon to get a noodle out of the pot. Rinse with cold water to avoid burning your tongue. If it is still a little crunchy, let it boil another minute or two before testing again.
- Drain the pasta well and rinse with cold water immediately. The cold water will prevent the pasta from continuing to cook and will also prevent the noodles from sticking together.
