Simple instructions for moist, flavorful slow cooker chicken.Over the years I’ve made shredded chicken in a variety of ways. I’m sharing with you all my absolutely favorite way to cook shredded chicken. It’s easy and results in fall-apart chicken that’s moist, flavorful and ready to use in a variety of recipes.
How to Make Shredded Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 14.5-oz can chicken broth
- salt & pepper
- Add chicken to a 4-quart slow cooker.
- Pour broth on top of chicken. Add a few shakes of both salt & pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
- Remove chicken & shred with 2 forks.
*To make more shredded chicken- ingredients stay the same. Add 1 hour of cooking time per each additional 2 chicken breasts. Max of 8 chicken breasts in a 4 quart slow cooker. If you’d like to make even more, switch to a 6 quart cooker and add 1 additional can of broth.
