Caramel Apple Hawaiian Cinnamon Rolls are the perfect fall treat. Sweet Hawaiian rolls are brushed with butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar before getting stuffed with a delicious caramel apple filling.
Caramel Apple Hawaiian Cinnamon Rolls work perfectly as a sweet breakfast treat or delicious dessert. They are perfect for special occasions, holidays, or any time you want to indulge in something sweet and comforting.
To make these cinnamon rolls, you will need just a few basic ingredients, including Hawaiian rolls, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, apples, and caramel sauce.
Why you’ll love this Caramel Apple Hawaiian Cinnamon Roll recipe
- Easy to make. Most cinnamon rolls require a couple of hours for mixing, letting dough rise, shaping the rolls, etc. These cinnamon rolls are made with pre-made Hawaiian sweet rolls, making it possible for the cinnamon rolls to be ready after just a few minutes of prep and 15 minutes of baking.
- Absolutely delicious. Take Hawaiian rolls and add butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, apples, and caramel sauce. Can’t go wrong with those ingredients!
Ingredients in Caramel Apple Hawaiian Cinnamon Rolls
Hawaiian rolls – You will need one package of Hawaiian rolls to make a dozen cinnamon rolls. Using pre-made rolls saves so much time and these rolls have so much flavor!
Butter – Real butter works best.
Brown sugar – Some of the brown sugar will be mixed into the butter to spread on the rolls, and some will be added to the caramel apple filling.
Cinnamon – A little bit of cinnamon is mixed with the butter and brown sugar and a little bit is added to the caramel apple filling.
Apples – You will need 4 apples, peeled and diced. I prefer to use Honeycrisp or Fuji apples, but Golden Delicious apples work great too!
Caramel sauce – You will need a little bit of caramel sauce to mix with the diced apples, and I like to drizzle a little bit more on top of the rolls after they are baked.

WHAT KINDS OF APPLES TO USE IN CINNAMON ROLLS?
My favorite type of apple for baking (and eating!) is the Honeycrisp variety. These apples are very crunchy and they hold up well during the baking process. Sometimes the Honeycrisp apples are really expensive, but Fuji apples work really well too so that is a great alternative. You just don’t want to use a soft apple (like Red Delicious) because generally the flavor isn’t as strong and the softer apples tend to get mushier when baked. You could also use pieces of dried apples in these cookies, but I definitely prefer using fresh ones!
How to store leftover cinnamon rolls
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Variations on Caramel Apple Hawaiian Cinnamon Rolls
- You can use pumpkin spice instead of cinnamon if you like.
- Skip the caramel and drizzle with a quick icing instead!
- Top with crushed walnuts or pecans for a little crunch.
