Snickers Cake made with a chocolate cake mix combined with caramel, peanuts and chocolate chips for a delicious cake recipe that tastes like a Snickers bar!
Snickers Cake is one of those cake recipes that tastes (and looks) really fancy, but only takes a few minutes to make. Just adding a few ingredients to a chocolate cake mix creates a unique dessert that is absolutely amazing. There isn’t much better than chocolate and caramel together!
Chocolate chips are sprinkled on top of the cake for the last few minutes of baking, and the cake has enough flavor that it doesn’t really need any frosting. You can definitely add chocolate frosting though if you just really want a little bit more chocolate with your chocolate.

WHAT KIND OF OIL SHOULD I USE FOR THIS CAKE?
You can use any type of baking oil such as canola, olive oil, vegetable oil or coconut. All will work but some will be better than others. For example olive oil often gives baked goods a distinct flavor that the others don’t and can be seen as off putting in most baked desserts. Coconut oil on the other hand helps to give you that perfectly greased cake that falls out of the pan without issues once baked.
CAN I USE SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS?
The recipe calls for milk chocolate chips and although I’m usually a big fan of the semi-sweet ones, the milk chocolate chips really help to give this cake that Snickers flavor! If you only have semi-sweet chocolate chips on hand, the cake will still be delicious, but I really do think that the milk chocolate chips are better in this recipe.

Hi Mary,
1 stick of butter weighs 1/4 pound. Here is a link I found helpful: https://www.letseatcake.com/butter-measurements-conversion-charts/
Deb says
A package of caramels is how many ?
Nellie says
About 50 caramels.
Debbie says
Do you leave the oven at 250 when you bake the cake with the caramel/cake topping for the additional 20 min. and then turn it back to 350 for the last 10 min with the chocolate chips and nuts?
Nellie says
Yep, leave the oven at 250 while baking with the caramel topping. After the 20 minutes, turn up to 350 for the last 10 minutes with the chocolate chips on top.
Wendy says
We have this every birthday, and love it but it is very rich. We’ve found that serving it with a little whipped cream helps.
Nicole says
Whipped cream makes everything better!
Val says
How would this be for cupcakes?
Nicole says
I’ve honestly never tried to turn it into cupcakes before so I’m not sure how that would work.. perhaps just bake the chocolate cupcakes according to the package directions and then hollow out the centers for the caramel before adding the topping?
