Oven Baked Chicken Wings are perfect for an appetizer, side dish or even the main course. These baked chicken wings are marinated overnight so they are tender, juicy and packed with flavor!
The marinade for these baked chicken wings is simple, but absolutely incredible. Made with apple cider, honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and a little bit of a kick for the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Only takes a few minutes to mix up the marinade and then the chicken wings marinade overnight for maximum flavor and tenderness. Bake the chicken wings in the oven and enjoy immediately after baking.
Ingredients in Oven Baked Chicken Wings
Chicken wings – You will use about 3 pounds of chicken wings. There are different sizes of chicken wings – any size will work, but I usually like to use the smaller ones.
Soy sauce – Adds a lot of flavor to the chicken wings. Recently I have started using coconut aminos in place of soy sauce in most recipes and I really like the flavor!
Chili sauce – Just a couple tablespoons of chili sauce adds a lot of flavor, but not too much spice.
Apple cider – Apple cider tastes absolutely incredible in this marinade. Adds a subtle sweetness that is so yummy!
Honey – Don’t leave out the honey! Perfect amount of sweet for the marinade.
Salt
Ginger – I always keep a tube of ginger paste in my refrigerator to use in recipes, but you can use freshly grated ginger if you prefer.
Garlic – Another ingredient that I usually cheat with. I always have minced garlic in my refrigerator and it works perfectly in recipes like this one, but you can definitely mince your own garlic clove if you’d like.
Tabasco sauce – You only need 4 drops to add the perfect amount of flavor. If you want more spice, you can add a few more drops!

How to tell if chicken wings are baked through?
For years, I had such a hard time being able to tell if chicken was cooked through. And then I discovered meat thermometers. And now, my chicken is always cooked to perfection. Just make sure the internal temperature of the chicken is at 165°F and it will be perfect every time!
My all-time favorite meat thermometer is the Thermapen. It’s super fast and incredibly durable. Another great meat thermometer is the ThermoPop which is a more basic version that works just as well!
How long to bake chicken wings?
The baking time depends on the size of the chicken wings, but they should bake completely within about 30-40 minutes.
CAN BAKED CHICKEN WINGS BE REHEATED?
Yes, to reheat the chicken and keep the skin crispy it’s best to use an oven with a wire rack topped baking sheet so that the air can circulate around it. You could also use a microwave for faster results but the skin will not be crisp. Air fryers or other convection style cooking appliances may also work. Just make sure that the chicken is back to a safe consumable temperature before eating.
What to dip chicken wings in?
There are a lot of different wing sauces available at the store, but you can dip your baked chicken wings in any of your favorite sauces. We like to dip them in ranch dressing so that works great too!
