Ingredients in Baked Gingerbread Donuts

How to make Baked Gingerbread Donuts
Prep
Preheat the oven to 350°. Then spray a 12-count (or two 6-count) donut pan with non-stick cooking spray, then set it aside.

Donut Batter
In a medium size mixing bowl, whisk to combine the flour, baking powder, brown sugar, ginger, cloves, allspice, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Set this mixture aside.
In a separate bowl, combine the egg, oil, and molasses and beat with an electric mixer until fully combined.
Add the dry ingredients, milk, and sour cream to the egg mixture and beat again until smooth.

Shape & bake
Transfer the batter into a gallon-sized ziplocked bag, snip off a small corner of the bag, and pipe the batter evenly into the prepared donut pan(s). You can also scoop it into the pan with a spoon if you’d like, I find the bag a cleaner and easier process.
Place the donuts into the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating
While the donuts are in the oven, combine the sugar and cinnamon in a gallon-size ziplocked bag and shake to combine.
Remove the donuts from the oven and immediately place three of them into the ziplocked bag with the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Shake the bag gently to coat the donuts, remove them from the bag, and place them on a wire rack to cool.
Repeat until all the donuts are coated. Serve them immediately while they are still warm and enjoy!
