Ingredients

CINNAMON SUGAR TOPPING

  • ½ cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 12-count (or two 6-count) donut pan with non-stick cooking spray, set it aside.
  • Donut Batter: Whisk to combine the flour, baking powder, brown sugar, ginger, cloves, allspice, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon in a medium size mixing bowl. Set this mixture aside.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the egg, oil, and molasses and mix with an electric mixer until fully combined. Add the dry ingredients, milk, and sour cream to the egg mixture and beat again until smooth.
  • Shape & bake: Pour the batter into a gallon-sized ziplocked bag, snip off a small corner of the bag, and pipe the batter evenly into the prepared donut pan(s). Place the donuts into the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Cinnamon Sugar Coating: Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a gallon-size ziplocked bag and shake to combine.
  • Remove the donuts from the oven and immediately place three of them into the ziplocked bag with the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Shake the bag to coat the donuts, remove them from the bag, and place them on a wire rack to cool. Repeat until all the donuts are coated. Serve immediately while they are still warm and enjoy!

Notes

These donuts will stay fresh for up to 3 days if stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
For longer storage, wrap each donut individually in plastic wrap and place them in an airtight container to maintain freshness. When ready to eat, thaw at room temperature or warm them slightly in the oven.
