Ham and Cheese Quiche is made with a simple pie crust, eggs, ham, cheese and milk. Only 10 minutes of prep for this delicious quiche recipe that is perfect for brunch or breakfast.
We love breakfast recipes! The best part about breakfast recipes is that you can eat them for breakfast or for dinner! My family eats breakfast for dinner at least once a week, and quiche is in the regular rotation.
Why we think you’ll love this quiche recipe:
- Quick and easy prep. The quiche begins with a pre-made pie crust and the rest of the prep only takes a few minutes.
- Delicious and versatile. Ham and cheese are pretty popular and well-liked by everyone. It’s easy to swap out ingredients to change up the flavors. You can easily add vegetables, swap out the cheddar with another kind of cheese, and replace the ham with sausage or chicken.
- Healthy, one-dish meal. If you add some vegetables, this quiche is a pretty well-balanced meal all on it’s own. Quiche is full of protein, which makes it a filling meal for breakfast or dinner!
HAM AND CHEDDAR QUICHE RECIPE
The quiche recipe has a pie crust as the base. You can use a homemade crust or do what I do and use a pre-made pie crust. Bake the crust for a few minutes to prevent it from getting soggy, and then add the filling. The filling is made with eggs, ham, cheddar cheese and milk. Add a little bit of salt and pepper and add the filling to the baked crust. Bake the quiche and add a little chopped parsley on top as a garnish.
Ingredients in Ham and Cheese Quiche recipe
Pie crust – You will need a pre-made pie crust. These can be found in the refrigerator or freezer section of the store and they come shaped in an aluminum pie pan.
Eggs – The recipe calls for 4 large eggs.
Ham – Buying diced ham saves some time, but leftover ham works well in this recipe as well! You can leave the ham out if you want a meatless quiche, or you can swap it out with cooked sausage or bacon if you prefer.
Cheddar cheese – You will need a cup of shredded cheddar. You can also use Swiss or Gruyere cheese if you want to change up the flavor a little bit!
Milk – Any type of milk works. You can use half and half if you want a bit of a richer taste to the quiche.
Salt and pepper – Add a little bit of salt and pepper to taste.
Parsley – This ingredient is completely optional, but a little bit of chopped parsley on top of the baked quiche makes it look a little bit prettier!
How to make a Ham and Cheese Quiche
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
Leaving the pie crust in its foil case, place the pie crust on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. If you use a pre-made pie crust that is not already in a foil pie tin, you can gently press the crust into a pie pan before placing on a baking sheet to bake.
While the pie crust is baking, make the filling. In a large mixing bowl, add the eggs, diced ham, shredded cheese and milk. Whisk together until well combined. Season to taste with salt and pepper and continue to whisk.
Pour the filling into the baked pie crust. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the quiche is golden and set in the center.
Garnish with the chopped parsley and serve.

Can I Make the Quiche Ahead of Time?
Prep in advance – If you want to take care of some of the prep ahead of time, you can pre-bake the pie crust and mix the filling ingredients together. Keep the filling in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake the crust and then you can pour the filling into the pre-baked crust.
Freezing quiche – If you want to freeze the quiche, bake and let it cool completely. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap or foil and then freeze for up to 2 months. Let thaw in the refrigerator overnight and then bake at 350° until warmed all the way through.
Leftovers – Any leftover quiche can be covered or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Warm up each slice in the microwave before serving.
More tips for making quiche
- Bake the crust on a baking sheet. Placing the pie pan on a baking sheet to pre-bake the crust will help to get the heat on the bottom of the crust and cook more evenly which will help to keep the crust from getting soggy.
- Use half-and-half. The recipe calls for milk, but if you want a creamier, richer quiche, use half-and-half instead!
- Let the quiche rest before slicing. If you cut the quiche immediately after removing from the oven, the slices won’t stay intact very well. If you wait 5-10 minutes, the quiche will be much easier to serve!
- Add vegetables! Mushrooms, onions and peppers are wonderful in quiche. I like to chop them up and saute them in a little bit of olive oil for about 3-4 minutes before adding to the quiche filling.
What to serve with quiche?
Quiche is a wonderful main dish for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Add some Easy Mango Fruit Salad or Fancy Fruit Salad for a well-balanced meal. You can even add some Cast Iron Skillet Potatoes for a more filling meal!
