White chocolate: For the candy coating, use 8 ounces of Belgian white chocolate, melted and tinted white with candy color (if desired), for the Easter Bunny.
White chocolate: Use another 8 ounces of Belgian white chocolate, melted and tinted orange with candy color, for the Carrot.

How to make Chocolate Covered Strawberries for Easter
Prep
Start by washing the strawberries well, allow them to thoroughly drain and dry on paper towels.
Easter Bunny
In a microwave safe bowl, melt 8 ounces of white chocolate, in 20-second increments, stirring in between until melted and smooth. If desired, add a few drops of white candy coloring for a bright white color.
Next, line a baking sheet or plate with waxed paper.
After that, insert a toothpick (or two, depending on size of fruit) into the top of a clean, dry strawberry, taking care not to puncture the sides which will release juice into the chocolate and the strawberries will not set correctly.
Proceed to dip the strawberry in the white chocolate allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl and place it on the prepared plate or tray with wax paper. Dip and coat three strawberries.
While the chocolate is still wet, carefully add a heart-shaped sprinkle for the nose.
Next, add 2 round black sprinkles for the eyes (for a fun detail use a toothpick dipped in a small amount of white chocolate, add a little white sparkle to each eye). Then add two small pink pearl sprinkles to form cheeks.
Place the strawberries in the refrigerator to set.
Once set, draw the mouth with an edible black food marker, using light pressure to avoid creating a hole in the chocolate.
Using a pair of kitchen shears or a sharp knife, make a slit in the middle of a mini marshmallow, being careful not to cut all the way through. Pull open the marshmallow to create an ear. Press the sticky side down into a small dish of nonpareils. Repeat with another marshmallow for the second ear.
Using melted chocolate and a toothpick, attach the ears to the top of the bunny’s head. Allow to set (popping it back in the fridge for 10 minutes will set it faster than air drying).
Carrot
Melt 8 ounces of white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in 20-second increments, stirring in between until melted and smooth. Then add a few drops of orange candy color until you reach your desired shade or orange.
Next, insert a toothpick in the strawberry and dip it into the orange chocolate, allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl. Repeat with two more strawberries, for a total of 3. Transfer to the wax paper lined plate and allow it to set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
After that, add about a tablespoon of the melted orange chocolate to either a piping bag or a ziplocked bag with the corner cut out. Proceed to drizzle some lines on the carrot for texture.
Allow the carrot strawberries to fully set, in the fridge or at room temperature.
Easter Egg
In a small, microwave safe bowl, melt 8 ounces of white chocolate, in 20-second increments, stirring in between until melted and smooth. Next, add a few drops of blue candy color until you reach your desired shade.
Proceed to insert a toothpick in the strawberry and dip it into the blue chocolate allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl. Depending on the size of the fruit, you should be able to coat three strawberries. Transfer them to the wax paper lined plate, then immediately garnish with sprinkles of your choice in a line pattern or any pattern you wish!
Allow chocolate to set (pop them in the fridge for 10 minutes will help them set faster than air drying).
Serve the chocolate strawberries once they have all set and the chocolate is firm. Enjoy!

Tips for Recipe Success!
To ensure your chocolate covered strawberries come out great, here are a tip tips/tricks to help you along!
- Be sure to stir chocolate when in between warming in the microwave to avoid scorching and burning.
- Candy melts can be used in place of white Belgian chocolate if you prefer. This will save time as no coloring would be required.
- If you are tinting your chocolate use only oil-based candy coloring otherwise you may not get uneven color and/or streaking.
- These strawberries will set up in about 10 minutes in the freezer but keep in mind that the stems will not be a bright green anymore. This is a good option if you are running short on time.
How do you store chocolate covered strawberries?
These strawberries are best eaten the day they are made. If you do need to make them in advance store them in a container lined with paper towels in a single layer in the refrigerator. Do not cover them with a lid, this can lead to sweating and ruining your designs.
Should strawberries be cold before dipping in chocolate?
You do not want cold strawberries for dipping, you want them to be room temperature. This will provide the best results possible.
How to prevent chocolate covered strawberries from sweating?
To help minimize sweating, place a few sheets of paper towels on the bottom of a container. Store the strawberries on the top of the towel and parchment paper between layers.
