Banana Cream Fluff Salad made with bananas, yogurt, pudding mix and sweet cream. Perfect 10-minute sweet dessert salad for banana cream pie lovers!
Banana Cream Dessert
Banana Cream is a crowd favorite around my part of the world. It is a great, kid friendly flavor that adults seem to like just as much! Popular recipes such as Banana Cream Cheesecake Bars, Caramel Banana Cream Layered Dessert, and the Classic Banana Cream Pie are always a hit. If you like any of those, you are bound to completely fall head over hills for this fluff salad.
Banana Cream Fluff Salad has all of the flavors of your classic pie, only this takes a fraction of the time! You can whip this entire recipe up in under 10 minutes flat. Which makes it a winner in my book!
Ingredients in Banana Cream Salad
-Vanilla Yogurt: Use regular, non-greek yogurt for this recipe. Greek Yogurt is significantly thicker and will not combine with the pudding well.
-Banana Cream Instant Pudding: Make sure you are using instant pudding! We will be using the larger, 5.2 oz package.
-Whipped Topping: Allow this to thaw on your counter for approximately 30 minutes before starting to make the recipe. We don’t want it frozen!
-Bananas: The ripeness of the bananas is really up to your preference. I like my bananas just barely ripe, but you could definitely use extremely ripe bananas if that is what you prefer.
-Mini Vanilla Cookies: If you don’t have these cookies or can’t find some, broken up graham crackers work well, too!
-Mini Marshmallows: Once the marshmallows sit in the salad for a little bit, they become super soft and fluffy- hence the name of the ‘Fluff Salad’.
How to make Banana Cream Fluff Salad
All you’ll need to make your fruit salad is an electric hand mixer, a large bowl, and a knife to cut those bananas!
First, the yogurt and pudding mix will be combined. This will be a very thick mixture, it is important to use the electric mixer to ensure that there are no lumps and everything is nice and smooth.
Next, the whipped topping will be mixed into the yogurt pudding mixture. This will result in a super fluffy and fragrant mixture. This is the base of the salad.
Lastly, we will toss in all of the mix-ins. The bananas, marshmallows, and cookies. Fold them together and boom, done, that is it!

How long will the Fluff Salad Stay good?
Because bananas have the tendency to turn brown, this salad is best served the same day it is made. With that said, you could make the salad up to 1 day in advance but fold in those sliced bananas right before serving.
How to store banana fluff salad
Make sure to store this salad in the fridge when it isn’t being served. Keep it well covered in a bowl to seal out the air and keep it from drying out while in your fridge.
CAN YOU REPLACE THE COOL WHIP?
Cool Whip is the best “whipped topping” to use in this recipe. However, if you can’t find Cool Whip where you live or you prefer not to use it in recipes, you can use stabilized whipped cream instead. If you just use regular whipped cream, the consistency will be too light and the cream will not hold up very well. It’s very simple to make your own stabilized whipped cream and it just takes a few minutes!
See Homemade Whipped Cream recipes here.
HOW DO YOU MAKE STABILIZED WHIPPED CREAM?
To make stabilized whipped cream, you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 ounces of cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Beat the whipping cream just until soft peaks form.
Add in the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla. Whip on high until mixture is smooth.
Store in the refrigerator until ready to use, up to 3 days.
A little tip for making whipped cream faster: use a metal bowl and place the bowl in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you make the whipped cream. This will significantly decrease the amount of time that you will need to beat the whipped cream – the process will go much faster!
