I love making chocolate bark because it’s one of the simplest treats you can make- plus it’s so festive! You can use any candy you’d like. I like using gummy candies because the contrast between the hard chocolate and the candy tastes good. Have fun with it!
Valentine Candy Bark
- 2 cups white chocolate chips*
- 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips*
- 3-4 different types of Valentines candy
- Valentines sprinkles
Pour each type of chocolate in a separate small bowl. Microwave the white chocolate for about 1 minute 30 seconds, adding more time in increments of 15 seconds as needed, until chocolate is smooth and melted. I find chocolate is actually melted before it looks melted- be sure to gently stir before adding more time in the microwave. Once it’s nearly melted, I just let it sit on the counter for another minute or so and the heat from the bowl melts it the rest of the way.
Melt the semi sweet chocolate in the same manner, beginning with 45 seconds.
Line a small pan with parchment paper. {I used a bakers quarter sheet– a 9×13 works well too.} Pour the white chocolate out and tilt the pan/ tap it gently on the counter until the chocolate has nearly covered the pan. Spoon out 4 lines with the semi sweet chocolate, running across the white chocolate. Use a knife to cut through the lines, curving around at the ends of the sheet to make a swirling pattern.
Place candies on the chocolate to your liking. I don’t like to use a ton, as it’s fun to see the chocolate swirls. After you’ve placed the candies on the chocolate, shake some sprinkles on top.
Let cool until firm. If you’re in a hurry, place pan in the freezer- then it’s done in about 7-10 minutes! Cut into small pieces and ENJOY!
*I am a huge fan of using GOOD chocolate in bark because it tastes SO much better! I use Bada Bing Bada Boom Gourmet Compound Chocolate from Chocoley. If you sign up for their emails, they have fantastic sales all the time! A 2 lb bag lasts a while too. It’s so worth it.
