I wanted to make a pot roast in the crock pot last Sunday, but I wanted something a little different. I got several new seasonings from Spiceologist and couldn’t wait to try them. I ended up using the Greek Freak seasoning and oh heavens it was incredible! I made a gravy but it went unused as the flavor of the meat was just SO amazing in itself. You’ve GOT to try this!
Slow Cooker Greek Pot Roast
- 1 2-3lb chuck roast {I got my roasts from Zaycon Fresh– they’re the best roasts I’ve ever had!}
- 2 cups beef broth
- 3/4 cup red cooking wine
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 TBSP Greek seasoning
- salt & pepper
Place roast in slow cooker on high.
Pour beef broth and red cooking wine into slow cooker. Add onion. Pour 1 TBSP of the Greek seasoning into the liquid in the crockpot and stir to incorporate. Sprinkle the other 1 TBSP onto the top of the roast. Sprinkle with salt & pepper.
Cook on LOW for about 8 hours. Increase temperature to HIGH and cook an additional 2 hours. OR cook on HIGH for 6-7 hours. If you have time, cook it on LOW for about 13 hours and it’s heavenly!
