Raspberry Vanilla Jello Salad is made with just 4 ingredients: vanilla yogurt, pudding mix, whipped topping, and raspberries. It’s a creamy, refreshing treat that’s perfect for potlucks, holidays, or a simple sweet side dish!

What is the best fruit to put in Jello Fruit Salad?
My family loves raspberries best in this recipe, but I’ve also made it with mixed berries, blackberries, blueberries, and even peaches (which inspired this version of the salad). I usually use frozen fruit since I keep it on hand, but fresh works just as well.
You can also mix a few fruits together—raspberries and peaches are especially delicious—and I’ve even added bananas right before serving for extra flavor.

Recipe Highlights
- Just 4 Simple Ingredients – Made with vanilla yogurt, pudding mix, whipped topping, and raspberries, this recipe comes together fast with minimal effort.
- Sweet, Creamy & Refreshing – The mix of tart raspberries with smooth vanilla cream makes every bite light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced.
- Easy to Customize – Works with frozen or fresh fruit and can be switched up with berries, peaches, or bananas depending on what you have on hand.

Ingredients in Raspberry Jello Fruit Salad
Instant vanilla pudding mix – Thickens the salad and adds a smooth vanilla flavor that ties everything together.
Vanilla yogurt – Adds creaminess and a slight tang that balances the sweetness.
Cool Whip (whipped topping) – Makes the texture light, fluffy, and airy.
Frozen raspberries – Bring a sweet-tart burst of fruit flavor and juicy texture in every bite.

How long is this Raspberry Jello Fluff good for?
This Raspberry Vanilla Jello Salad is best enjoyed within 2–3 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. After that, the texture can start to loosen as the fruit releases moisture and the whipped topping breaks down slightly.
Freezing isn’t recommended, since thawing causes the mixture to become watery and lose its fluffy, creamy texture.

Easy Raspberry Jello Salad Recipe
Ingredients
- 5.1 oz box instant vanilla pudding
- 32 oz container vanilla yogurt
- 8 oz container Cool Whip thawed
- 12 oz package frozen raspberries
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the pudding mix and the vanilla yogurt, stirring until well mixed.
- Fold Cool Whip into the mixture. (You can use a spatula or a whisk!)
- Lastly, fold in the raspberries. I had set mine out for about 10 minutes before making the salad, but you can put them in frozen and they will thaw very quickly so you can serve the salad right after mixing. If you don’t serve the salad immediately, the raspberries will thaw more and the juices will add a raspberry flavor to the entire mixture – I like it both ways!

Can you replace the cool whip in fruit Jello salad?
If you can’t find Cool Whip where you live or you prefer not to use it in recipes, you can use stabilized whipped cream instead. If you just use regular whipped cream, the consistency will be too light and the cream will not hold up very well when mixed into the jello salad. It’s very simple to make your own stabilized whipped cream and it just takes a few minutes!
How do you make stabilized whipped cream?
To make stabilized whipped cream, you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 ounces of cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream.
- Beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla until soft and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream just until soft peaks form.
- Add the cream cheese mixture to the whipped cream and beat until stiff peaks are formed. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
A little tip for making whipped cream faster. Use a metal bowl for whipping the cream and place the bowl in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you make the whipped cream. This will significantly decrease the amount of time that you will need to beat the whipped cream – the process will go much faster!

Can I use fresh fruit instead of frozen?
Yes, fresh fruit works just as well, though frozen raspberries are often used for convenience and consistent texture.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Absolutely—this salad actually tastes better after chilling for a few hours so the flavors can blend together.
Can I use a different flavor of pudding mix?
Yes, vanilla is classic, but white chocolate or cheesecake pudding can also work for a slightly different flavor twist.

Why is my salad runny?
This usually happens if the fruit is very juicy or the mixture hasn’t chilled long enough to set up properly.

We couldn’t find a large container of Vanilla yogurt so we bought a Greek vanilla yogurt and we used fresh raspberries. We made this dish for my husband’s belated birthday celebration today.
It was a hit with family and friends! We will definitely be trying this dish again and probably using a mix of berries. THANK YOU!

Can you use the raspberry juices from the berries?
Olivia says
I usually use frozen raspberries, and let them thaw for maybe about 10 minutes before making this recipe, which means they don’t usually have much juice. However, if you find your raspberries are especially juicy, by all means use the raspberry juices! The juices will add a raspberry flavor to the entire mixture.
Beverly Graham says
Where is the jello in this recipe?
Nellie says
The title of the recipe has been in the family for years and I believe it refers to the Jello pudding in the salad – more of a brand name than actual jello! It is a bit confusing, but no matter what you call it, it’s absolutely delicious!
Judy says
The Jello part is the instant vanilla pudding mix. It doesn’t use any Jello gelatin.
Angie Poe says
Doing a great Job.
Alison says
Thank you so much Angie!
Jan S says
My family loved it except for the seeds. I couldn’t find frozen raspberry’s so I used fresh.
I haven’t seen anyone comment on using strawberries. I would think those would be yummy!
Trish says
Do you make the pudding per the directions on the box or just dump in the dry pudding mix?
Nellie says
Just dump in the dry pudding mix!
Din says
what size package of raspberries did you use?
Nellie says
I used a 12 ounce bag.
Beverly Graham says
The amount of raspberries is not critical. I buy the largest bag, and I make this recipe 3 or 4 times.
Mary Kay Mason says
Delicious!!! I’ve used frozen dark cherries and also frozen mixed berries. I’ve also used fresh raspberries. It’s very versatile and one of my all-time favorites now. Thank you!
Lynn says
Reading through your recipe I do notation for how many this will serve
Nellie says
I would say it serves between 12-15. If you are serving at a potluck type dinner, probably even more if everyone just takes a small scoop.
Emilee King says
Can this recipe be made a day in advance?
Nellie says
Absolutely! I actually prefer to make it a day in advance because it gives the raspberries more time to thaw and the flavors get a little more intense.
Amy says
Can I use cook and serve pudding instead of instant?
Jessica says
For this recipe you should use Instant pudding mix!
Stephanie Friesen says
