Raspberry Vanilla Jello Salad is made with just 4 ingredients: vanilla yogurt, pudding mix, whipped topping, and raspberries. It’s a creamy, refreshing treat that’s perfect for potlucks, holidays, or a simple sweet side dish!

What is the best fruit to put in Jello Fruit Salad?
My family loves raspberries best in this recipe, but I’ve also made it with mixed berries, blackberries, blueberries, and even peaches (which inspired this version of the salad). I usually use frozen fruit since I keep it on hand, but fresh works just as well.
You can also mix a few fruits together—raspberries and peaches are especially delicious—and I’ve even added bananas right before serving for extra flavor.

Recipe Highlights
- Just 4 Simple Ingredients – Made with vanilla yogurt, pudding mix, whipped topping, and raspberries, this recipe comes together fast with minimal effort.
- Sweet, Creamy & Refreshing – The mix of tart raspberries with smooth vanilla cream makes every bite light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced.
- Easy to Customize – Works with frozen or fresh fruit and can be switched up with berries, peaches, or bananas depending on what you have on hand.

Ingredients in Raspberry Jello Fruit Salad
Instant vanilla pudding mix – Thickens the salad and adds a smooth vanilla flavor that ties everything together.
Vanilla yogurt – Adds creaminess and a slight tang that balances the sweetness.
Cool Whip (whipped topping) – Makes the texture light, fluffy, and airy.
Frozen raspberries – Bring a sweet-tart burst of fruit flavor and juicy texture in every bite.

How long is this Raspberry Jello Fluff good for?
This Raspberry Vanilla Jello Salad is best enjoyed within 2–3 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. After that, the texture can start to loosen as the fruit releases moisture and the whipped topping breaks down slightly.
Freezing isn’t recommended, since thawing causes the mixture to become watery and lose its fluffy, creamy texture.

Easy Raspberry Jello Salad Recipe
Ingredients
- 5.1 oz box instant vanilla pudding
- 32 oz container vanilla yogurt
- 8 oz container Cool Whip thawed
- 12 oz package frozen raspberries
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the pudding mix and the vanilla yogurt, stirring until well mixed.
- Fold Cool Whip into the mixture. (You can use a spatula or a whisk!)
- Lastly, fold in the raspberries. I had set mine out for about 10 minutes before making the salad, but you can put them in frozen and they will thaw very quickly so you can serve the salad right after mixing. If you don’t serve the salad immediately, the raspberries will thaw more and the juices will add a raspberry flavor to the entire mixture – I like it both ways!

Can you replace the cool whip in fruit Jello salad?
If you can’t find Cool Whip where you live or you prefer not to use it in recipes, you can use stabilized whipped cream instead. If you just use regular whipped cream, the consistency will be too light and the cream will not hold up very well when mixed into the jello salad. It’s very simple to make your own stabilized whipped cream and it just takes a few minutes!
How do you make stabilized whipped cream?
To make stabilized whipped cream, you will need the following ingredients:
- 4 ounces of cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream.
- Beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla until soft and smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream just until soft peaks form.
- Add the cream cheese mixture to the whipped cream and beat until stiff peaks are formed. Store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
A little tip for making whipped cream faster. Use a metal bowl for whipping the cream and place the bowl in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you make the whipped cream. This will significantly decrease the amount of time that you will need to beat the whipped cream – the process will go much faster!

Can I use fresh fruit instead of frozen?
Yes, fresh fruit works just as well, though frozen raspberries are often used for convenience and consistent texture.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Absolutely—this salad actually tastes better after chilling for a few hours so the flavors can blend together.
Can I use a different flavor of pudding mix?
Yes, vanilla is classic, but white chocolate or cheesecake pudding can also work for a slightly different flavor twist.

Why is my salad runny?
This usually happens if the fruit is very juicy or the mixture hasn’t chilled long enough to set up properly.

Lori says
How many does this serve I am
Needing to feed 26 people with this as a side dish so trying to decide how much I will need.
Nellie says
I would guess that if you doubled this recipe, you would have the perfect amount! If you have tons of other food and everyone will just be getting a small scoop, you might be able to get away with not doubling, but I usually tend to err on the side of having a bit too much rather than not enough! Even if you have leftovers, this salad stores in the fridge for several days afterwards so you can enjoy the leftovers!

Erica Stephens says
I think I see your berry amount in the Q&A segment , but would be helpful if you would specify the amount of berries in the actual recipe as I buy frozen berries in bulk from Amish stores.
Mary Allen says
Made this today it’s our 42nd wedding anniversary
Used it as a topping for a flan cake which was a white vanilla cake
Put sliced strawberries on the flan first. And then covered the top and sides with the pudding which had strawberries also
It was a great hit for everyone who had it
Nellie says
What a great idea to use it as a topping for a cake! I’m going to have to steal that idea!
Dogmom says
Anyone tried this using real whipped cream made from scratch? I like that better than cool whip. ????

Can you use vanilla GREEK yogurt in this? If someone else has asked this question and you have replied, I apologize for the repetition, but I couldn’t find it. Thank you.
Nellie says
I haven’t actually tried this recipe with Greek yogurt, but I’ve been planning to! I think the taste would be the same, but obviously the consistency will probably be a little bit thicker. I don’t think that would be a problem though! Let me know if you try it!
Imogene says
How many ounces of frozen raspberries do you use in the raspberry Jell-O salad ? I would like to try this salad it looks delicious.
Nellie says
The bag that I use has 12 oz. of frozen raspberries. This is about 2 cups if you have buy in bulk or have a larger bag. You can definitely add more berries if you’d like!
Imogene says

Abbie Crawford says
How many raspberries are needed for this recipe?
Nellie says
Abbie- I use a 12 oz bag of frozen raspberries for this recipe.
Bonnie Elson says
Can I make this recipe day before?
Nellie says
Bonnie – you can absolutely make this the day before. Even 2 days before! I actually prefer to make it a day in advance because the raspberry flavor is a little bit stronger throughout the salad.
Diana Hipsley says

Nellie says

How many servings does this make?
Nellie says

Tara Kauffman says
Could you use vanilla greek yogurt?
Also does jello salad mean no jello in it?
Nellie says
Yep, you can use Greek yogurt! The consistency will be slightly thicker but it works great. The title of the recipe is referring to the pudding in it which is usually Jello brand- so no, there is not actually Jello in it!
Rebekah says
Jello is kind of a misnomer as well as salad. This is more like a parfait the anything else. But needed something quick and easy to make for a Christmas potluck and this was perfect.
Dianna Brack says
I could not find 5.1 oz. Instant vanilla pudding. Is this a typo in the recipe ?
Nellie says
Instant vanilla pudding usually comes in two sizes- the small box is 3.4 oz and the large box is 5.1 oz. The weight might be a little different if you are looking at a sugar free version or something? I have found that these sizes seem to be pretty standard across brands. Hopefully that helps!
Renee Goerger says
This is always a crowd favorite every time I make it. I love it because it’s so easy!
Jenn says
