Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzels are made with 4 simple ingredients and they’re completely amazing! Easy treats made with peanut butter, pretzels, and chocolate & perfect for anytime.
Peanut Butter Pretzels are a simple treat my family went nuts over! They’re super easy to make and oh my word- once you taste them, prepare yourself to be obsessed. I love a good peanut butter recipe and these are SO good. They’re made with the perfect ratio of chocolate and peanut butter. I like to make them for our family game night since they’re bite size & easily eaten, but they’re also great for parties and get togethers.
Made with just 4 ingredients in about 30 minutes, plus about 10 minutes for cooling to allow the chocolate to set. Drizzle them with semi-sweet chocolate, or sprinkle them with chocolate jimmies- both are fantastic. If you want to save time, go with the sprinkles, although I like the taste of the semi-sweet chocolate more. I can’t wait to hear what you all think!
How do you melt chocolate for dipping pretzels?
I like to melt chocolate in the microwave because it’s faster and uses less dishes. To successfully melt chocolate in the microwave you first want to start with either a glass or ceramic bowl. Place your chocolate in the bowl and microwave for shorter increments of time and let sit for 2-3 minutes after each time you microwave it. I never put chocolate in the microwave for longer than 1:30 at a time- for the recipe below I break it up in one 1 minute segment, then another 30 second segment. By going slow and letting the chocolate sit, you allow the warmth of the bowl to continue melting the chocolate. Oftentimes chocolate holds its shape until stirred… but it’s actually completely melted! So go slow, let it sit and then stir gently to assess how melted the chocolate actually is.
If your chocolate has a crumbly appearance or begins to thicken quickly as you stir, you’ve overcooked it and there’s not much you can do to save it, unfortunately. If it is thickening but is still pretty smooth, you can try adding in 1/4- 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil or shortening per 1 cup chocolate chips. Stir that in gently, allowing it to melt and hopefully help the chocolate to thin out enough for dipping.
Just fyi too- for those trying to find some lighter treats here in the New Year, I calculated these Peanut Butter Pretzels to have about 110 calories and 2 grams of protein per serving (4 pretzels.) I mean, it’s not like they replace your green salad, but still…YUM.
Peanut Butter Pretzels
- 1 12-oz bag white chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2-3 cups mini pretzels
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, for drizzling OR
- 2 TBSP chocolate jimmies, for sprinkling
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Place white chocolate chips in a glass or ceramic bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Add 1/3 cup peanut butter to the bowl and microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Stir until smooth.
- Drop 1 mini pretzel at a time into peanut butter mixture. Turn to coat. You can dip using a fork, but I prefer using a chocolate dipping fork. Makes it even easier! Tap fork on the side of the bowl to help excess drip off. Transfer coated pretzel to parchment lined pan.
- Repeat process with remaining pretzels. Let cool on pan until set.
- Place semi-sweet chocolate chips in a sandwich sized bag. Microwave for 1 minute. Cut a corner of the bag and drizzle melted chocolate on pretzels. Let cool to set.(Or, as an alternative, online semi-sweet chocolate drizzle & sprinkle with chocolate jimmies instead.)
- Store in an airtight container on the counter top & try to not eat them all at once!

Why are these not already in my belly!? I have everything… running to make these now, THANK YOU!
Karla says
Hi. Do you microwave the chocolate on a high, medium or low setting? Won’t the sandwich bag melt when it’s microwaved?
Jessica says
You don’t heat it long enough to melt it. 🙂

These look amazing. I’d like to make them, but I have the Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers, not the white chocolate chips. Would these work? I know they are not the same thing, and I’m concerned that the extra fat in the peanut butter would cause them not to set using the Melting Wafers. Have you ever used them for this?
Jessica says
The Ghirardelli Wafers are wonderful in this recipe!

Jessica,
Looking forward to making these. I’m wondering, if you can use the flat type pretzels and if so, how would you change the recipe?
Jessica says
I wouldn’t change anything! The flat pretzels will be great!
Upset & Confused says
Why are there jimmies in the recipe but they’re not in the picture? It’s hard for me to picture how these will look with jimmies.
Jessica says
I explained in the recipe that it’s an option instead of drizzling chocolate. 😉

I couldn’t make these fast enough to keep up with the demand! My family (and I) think they are over-the-top terrific! What a treat! I am thankful for recipes like this one that never prompt the non-gf folks in my family to ask, “This is a gluten free recipe, isn’t it?” Instead, the only question was, “Are you going to make more?” Thank you so much for the recipe! 😊
