Ingredients in Christmas Cool Whip Candy
- Cool Whip – You will need eight ounces of non-dairy whipped topping. Make sure the Cool Whip is thawed before mixing with the chocolate.
- White chocolate chips – You will need 24 ounces (4 cups) of white chocolate chips. You can use 24 ounces of any kind of white chocolate, or you can swap it out with a different type of chocolate if you prefer. Semi-sweet, milk chocolate, dark chocolate…they all work great!
- Almond bark – The recipe calls for vanilla almond bark, but chocolate works too! The almond bark melts easily to provide a smooth coating for dipping the candy.
- Sprinkles – Adding holiday sprinkles to the candy makes it festive and fun! You can add different colors if you are making the candy for other occasions or holidays.

Tips for the Best Candy
Full instructions can be found on the recipe card below, but here are a few helpful tips.
- Melt chocolate slowly: Overheating causes chocolate to seize. Always stir between intervals and stop once it looks almost melted — it will finish melting as you stir.
- Work quickly when dipping: The Cool Whip filling softens fast, so keep it in the freezer until ready to dip.
- Add a touch of oil if needed: If the melted almond bark is too thick, stir in a small amount of coconut oil to thin it.
- Customize for any holiday: Change the sprinkle colors or use different chocolate types for Valentine’s Day, Easter, or birthdays.

Storage Instructions
- Refrigerator: Store candy in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Freezer: Freeze for up to 1 month in a sealed container with parchment between layers. Thaw briefly before serving.
- Room temperature: Avoid storing at room temperature for long periods — the Cool Whip center softens too much.

Christmas Cool Whip Candy Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 ounces Cool Whip whipped topping thawed
- 4 cups white chocolate chips
- 1 pound vanilla almond bark
- sprinkles
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 dish with parchment paper.
- Place the whipped topping in a large bowl and set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval until the chocolate is smooth and melted. Make sure not to overcook because it will cause the chocolate to seize.
- Set aside to cool slightly.
- Stir the melted white chocolate chips into the whipped topping and stir until combined. Add some sprinkles and mix into the mixture.
- Pour the candy into the prepared pan and smooth out until even. Place in the freezer for at least 1 hour, but up to overnight.
- In a microwave-safe dish melt the almond bark in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval until the almond bark is melted and smooth.
- Remove the candy from the freezer and cut into 20 equal pieces. The candy will still be pretty sticky, so your squares may not be perfectly shaped – it’s ok!
- Using 2 forks, dip each piece of candy into the melted almond bark and place it onto a tray lined with wax paper.
- Immediately sprinkle each dipped candy with Christmas sprinkles. Repeat with all the squares.
- Let set up in the fridge for at least 10 minutes before serving.

FAQs
Can I use real whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?
Not recommended. Whipped cream deflates and becomes watery when frozen or mixed with melted chocolate. Cool Whip gives the stable, fluffy texture this recipe needs.
What kind of chocolate can I use?
White, milk, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate all work well. Just use good-quality chips or bars that melt smoothly.
How can I keep the chocolate from seizing?
Avoid any contact with water and melt slowly. If your chocolate thickens too much, add ½ teaspoon of coconut oil and stir gently.
Can I double this recipe?
Yes! Simply use a 9×13 pan and double all ingredients. It’s perfect for larger holiday batches.
Can I add flavor variations?
Yes — add a few drops of peppermint extract, almond extract, or orange zest to the melted chocolate for a fun twist.
