Baked Cinnamon French Toast Ingredients
Sugar: You will need ⅔ cups of brown sugar to create a nice sweet and caramelized taste.
Butter: Use ½ cup (one stick) of melted butter for added richness and flavor.
Cinnamon: Add 2 tsp of ground cinnamon for a taste of warmth in every slice.
Eggs: To make plenty of the egg mixture, you need 6 large eggs that have been lightly beaten.
Milk: Stretch the egg mixture to coat all of the bread by adding in 1 ¾ cups of milk.
Bread: You will want to use 1 large loaf of French bread that has been cut into 1-inch sized slices. Day-old bread works great for this as well.

How to make Baked Cinnamon French Toast
Prep
Start by preheating the oven to 350°. Then grease a large baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Next in a small bowl combine the brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon. Proceed to pour this mixture onto the baking sheet and evenly distribute it around to coat the pan well, then set it aside.
Also, slice the French bread loaf into 1″ slices.
Assemble
After that combine the eggs and milk in a shallow dish (I used a 9X13 pan) and place the sliced bread in the egg mixture. Let the bread sit for 2-3 minutes and then flip over and soak for another 2-3 minutes.
Bake
Transfer the egg-soaked bread into the cinnamon mixture pan. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Serve immediately with the brown sugar side on top, enjoy!

How long is leftover baked French toast good for?
You can keep your leftover baked French toast stored in the fridge in an airtight or well covered container for up to 3 or 4 days. While it will taste delicious chilled, you can also reheat it in the microwave for about 1 minute before serving if you want to eat it warm!
Add ins for Baked French Toast
Popular additions include sliced bananas, blueberries, or chocolate chips. Nuts such as pecans or walnuts can enhance the texture and flavor. Dried fruits, like raisins or cranberries, also work well.
What type of bread to use in French toast?
This recipe works best with French bread, but you can use regular sandwich bread if you prefer. French bread works best if it is sliced in 1″ slices…that’s a little bit thicker than normal bread, but works so well for French toast. Sometimes I like to use brioche bread instead, it’s so soft and sweet!
What are some tips for making French toast crispy when baked?
Using a blend of butter and sugar in the baking dish can create a caramelized crust. Placing the slices spaced apart allows for even cooking and crispiness. Additionally, broiling the French toast for a few minutes at the end adds a nice crunch.
