Baked Cinnamon French Toast is a simple way to make french toast for the whole family at once! Thick slices of french bread soaked in an egg mixture and then baked in a buttery, cinnamon and brown sugar mixture.
My family loves french toast, but if you are standing at a skillet making french toast a few pieces at a time, it’s hard for everyone to eat at once. The solution? Baked french toast. All of the french toast is ready at one time and everyone can enjoy the meal together. And the cinnamon/brown sugar mixture on top is so delicious, you won’t even need any syrup!
What is baked french toast?
Baked french toast is just what it sounds like…french toast that is baked in the oven! Instead of cooking french toast individually on a skillet, you bake it in the oven. Dip the bread in an egg and milk mixture and then place in a pan coated with cinnamon, brown sugar and butter before baking. All of the french toast is perfectly baked and ready to eat at the same time!
Ingredients in Baked Cinnamon French Toast

6 eggs, lightly beaten
1 3/4 cup milk

How to make Baked Cinnamon French Toast
Preheat oven to 350°.
Combine brown sugar, butter and cinnamon. Spread evenly in a greased 10″X15″X1″ pan and set aside.
Combine eggs and milk in a shallow dish (I used a 9X13) and place bread in the dish. Let sit for 2-3 minutes and then flip over and soak for another 2-3 minutes.

What type of bread to use in french toast?
This recipe works best with french bread, but you can use regular sandwich bread if you prefer. French bread works best if it is sliced in 1″ slices…that’s a little bit thicker than normal bread, but works so well for french toast. Sometimes I like to use brioche bread instead – it’s so soft and sweet!
