Pecan pies are a holiday classic and often made around Thanksgiving. They’re especially popular in the southern states too. But this fun twist turns that classic pie into a fudgy slice of heaven and we are totally here for it.
What is pecan pie fudge?
It’s a pecan pie and a fudge recipe joined together to create something wonderful. A classic fudge recipe made on the stovetop and poured into a blind-baked pie crust is what makes this recipe fun and unique. Chilled until firm perfection every slice of this fudge pecan pie recipe is heavenly. Salty, sweet, crunchy, smooth, we’ve got it all in this holiday pie.
Pecan pie fudge ingredients
-Pie crust: You will need one refrigerated pie crust or you can make your own pie crust.
-White chocolate chips: You will need 4 cups of white chocolate chips, this is about what you get from (2) 8-ounce bags.
-Pecans: Use 1 ½ cups of chopped pecans. You can buy them pre-chopped to save on effort or chop them yourself.
-Corn syrup: To make our fudge sweet and thick use ½ cup of corn syrup.
-Evaporated milk: Adding in ¼ cup of evaporated milk will make the fudge smooth and creamy.
-Butter: Use 1 tablespoon of butter to help grease the pan you’ll be baking in.
-Dark Karo syrup: You can use 1 tablespoon of dark Karo syrup or molasses to help flavor the fudge. This is an optional ingredient.
-Vanilla: To help enhance the flavors use 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
-Salt: This is another natural flavor enhancer so use ¼ tsp of salt to make the flavors shine.
How to make pecan pie fudge
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line an 8×8 baking dish or a small rectangle bread pan with foil and then lightly grease or butter it.
Unroll the thawed pie crust and cut it to fit at the bottom of your baking dish.
Place the crust into the prepared baking dish and prick with a fork all over it to allow for vents.
Place into the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
Meanwhile, prepare the fudge filling.
Combine the corn syrup, evaporated milk, Karo syrup, white chocolate chips, and brown sugar in a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat. Mix together.
Stir constantly until smooth and melted.
Mix in the vanilla extract and the salt.
Remove the pie crust from the oven and then pour the warm filling into the warm crust.
Immediately top with your chopped pecans, pressing them into the fudge so that they stick.
Place in the fridge for 4 hours or until firm.
Slice into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Hi. So this is my first time making this fudge recipe (fudge in general). I noticed I accidentally placed the one tablespoon of butter in the fudge mixture. Have I completely ruined it? Thanks for your feedback.
Jessica says
It’ll be fine Latasha! : ) It’d probably be BETTER.
