Moist Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake
One of my favorite things about using boxed cake mixes like Betty Crocker or Duncan Heins is that the results are easy to anticipate. These box mixes always trustworthy and dependable, you know you will be getting a wonderful moist cake result. In this recipes case, it is a fluffy beautiful cake packed with delicious flavor. Using a Bundt cake pan kicks the boxed cake mix up a notch, everyone will think you created a cake masterpiece from scratch! We won’t tell, take credit where credit is due!
Chocolate chip bundt cake ingredients
-Cake mix: You will need 1 box of white cake mix to make the base of this cake taste fabulous. Note that you can use yellow cake mix or even chocolate cake mix instead, giving you a little more fun and variety.
-Eggs: Use 4 large eggs to help bind the cake together and give it the rich flavor we want. (Eggs also help with the leavening).
-Sour cream: Using 1 cup of sour cream or 1 cup of plain unflavored Greek yogurt will give the cake added moisture.
-Vegetable oil: Use ¾ cups of vegetable oil to make the cake moist thanks to the added fats.
-Sugar: Adding in ½ cup of granulated sugar will make the cake a bit sweeter so it tastes more like homemade.
-Vanilla: Use 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to help flavor the cake batter so that it tastes incredible. High-quality vanillas will have a stronger taste.
-Chocolate chips: Use 1 cup of chocolate chips in the batter so that there is chocolate in every slice. You can use mini or regular-sized chips, I recommend a mixture of both.
How to make easy chocolate chip bundt cake
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F. Then grease the inside of a 12 cup Bundt cake pan with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.
Next, in a large mixing bowl combine the box cake mix, eggs, sour cream, vegetable oil, sugar, and vanilla. Mix well with an electric mixer until smooth. If you do not have an electric mixer a whisk will give you the same results.
Then you will fold in the chocolate chips, combine until all are covered in the cake mix.
Now it is time to pour your batter into the prepared Bundt pan. See, didn’t we say this was an easy recipe?!
Proceed to bake in the oven for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted into the center of the cake and come out clean. I typically check my cake around the 45 minute mark to ensure I do not over cook it.
Remove the cake from the oven and let cool completely.
To make sure your cake does not stick to the inside of the pan, run a rubber scraper along the inside of the pan, to help separate the cake from the Bundt pan and then flip over onto a plate or cake stand to release.
Serve the cake plain, whip up and top with chocolate ganache, or a light dusting of powdered sugar. Whatever your heart desires, but this cake also stands alone with it’s simple delicious flavors. Enjoy!

How long is chocolate chip bundt cake good for?
This cake is good for about 5 days when stored in an airtight container at room temperature. I recommend eating it within 3 days for the best tasting results.
How do I keep my chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom of my cake?
To help prevent this, you can dust the chocolate chips in 2 teaspoons of flour before gently folding them into the batter, the added flour will help to hold the chocolate chips in place so that they do not sink as the cake bakes.
What type of chocolate should I use for making a ganache?
I recommend using semi-sweet chocolate chips and a semi-sweet chocolate ganache if that is the topping you choose. Dark chocolate doesn’t pair as well with the sweetness of the cake.
