Chocolate chip bundt cake from scratch
We are going to be making this delicious dessert 100% from scratch. This means that we will be using regular ingredients like flour, baking powder, salt, eggs, etc instead of using boxed mixes and puddings. While your effort might be a bit more than if we used a box mix, the flavors are incomparable and you’ll soon see why we love making these cakes from scratch every time. Nothing beats the taste of homemade cakes made with love.
Choc Chip Bundt Cake Ingredients
-Flour: 3 cups of all purpose flour will be the base of this cake batter.
-Sugar: To make our cake nice and sweet we want 1 ¾ cups of granulated sugar in the batter.
-Baking powder: Adding 1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder will get our cake to rise and leaven nicely as it bakes.
-Salt: Adding ¾ teaspoons of salt into the cake will help to bring out and enhance the other flavors in our recipe.
-Eggs: We need 4 large eggs to help bind our cake and make it taste richer. Adding eggs also helps the leavening so the cake turns out perfectly.
-Oil: We need ¾ cups of canola oil to give our cake some much needed fats so it tastes nice and moist.
-Milk: Add one cup of milk to the cake to make it moist and to give the liquids needed to hydrate and soften the cake.
-Chocolate chips: You will need 2 ½ cups of chocolate chips, divided between the ganache on top and mix into the cake batter.
-Butter: To make our chocolate glaze nice and rich we want to add 1 tablespoon of room temperature butter to the chocolate.

Gently stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
Pour your batter into the prepared bundt pan.
Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes until a toothpick can be inserted and come out clean.
Cool your bundt cake on a wire rack for 15 minutes before removing it from the pan and placing it back onto the rack. Let it cool completely.

How do you keep chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom of a cake?
If you find yourself having this issue, know that there are a few tricks. One, simply rolling the chocolate chips in some flour to coat them before folding them into the batter can help to hold them better in place. (this trick also works great with fresh fruits too!) Also, make sure not to let the batter sit too long before baking as the longer it sits there, the longer gravity has to work to pull the chocolates down.
Another great tip is to allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes after baking as that will help the cake to cool and solidify enough to pull away from the edges so that flipping the pan and removing the cake goes more smoothly as well.
