-Vanilla extract: You will need 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to help enhance all the combined flavors.
-Butter: Adding ½ teaspoon of butter will give the dough a nice rich flavor and great texture too.
-Flour: Use 2 cups of all-purpose flour for the base of the dough.
Powdered sugar: Adding 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar will make the dough a little sweeter without changing the consistency.
-Salt: Use 1 teaspoon of kosher salt to enhance the flavors in this recipe.
-Cinnamon: To help make this churro bites recipe well-spiced you will need 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
-Vegetable oil: You will need enough oil for deep frying these treats, fill a pan with about 3 inches of oil.
For sugar coating, you will need:
-Sugar: You will need 1 cup of granulated sugar to roll the churro bites in after they have finished frying.
-Cinnamon: Adding 1 tablespoon of cinnamon to the sugar will give the coating a lovely savory flavor.
Directions
Prep
Add 3 inches of oil to a tall-sided pot or pan and heat it until it reaches 350 degrees F.
In a medium size bowl, stir the sugar and cinnamon together to combine well. Set aside, this will be used right after you are done frying the dough.
Making the dough
In a medium size saucepan combine the water, sweet cream, vanilla extract, and butter until the mixture comes to a boil. Then, remove the pot from the heat.
In a separate large mixing bowl, combine the flour, powdered sugar, salt, and cinnamon with a whisk.
Next, add the wet ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients and use a dough whisk or wooden spoon to mix well to combine. The dough should be slightly thick.
Pipe the dough
Insert a star piping tip into a frosting piping bag and fill the bag with the churro dough. If you do not have a piping bag, a ziplocked bag will work just as well. Simply cut a small piece of the corner and insert the piping tip.
Then, gently squeeze the bag of dough over the hot oil and use scissors to cut off 1-inch sized pieces directly into the hot oil.
Be sure to hold the bag down close to the oil to prevent the oil from splashing. Alternatively, you can squeeze out pieces onto a wooden cutting board and then add them to the oil.
Fry the churro bites for about 2-4 minutes or until golden brown in color. Work in batches of about 7-10 churro bites at a time, be careful not to overcrowd the oil.
Finishing touches
Remove the churros from the oil using a wire strainer and allow the excess grease to drip off.
Immediately place them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss to coat well.
Place the coated bites onto a baking sheet while you continue the process with the remaining dough.
Serve warm and enjoy!

How long are churro bites good for?
I recommend eating these little bites soon after making them. Within the same day if at all possible. As the day progresses your crispy little bites will soft and possibly even get soggy in texture. For the best tasting results eat fresh.
What size piping tip would work?
I like the much larger open star tips such as a Wilton 1M this is often used for fancy cake frosting borders but we’re getting a little more use out of them. Smaller basic tips will work but they’ll produce much thinner churro bites and that also means that they will cook significantly faster.
What if I do not have a piping tip, can I still make these churro bites?
You sure can! The star piping tip gives the signature churro look, but it’s not what makes them delicious! You can use a ziplocked bag and cut off pieces directly from it in a regular nugget form. They will look a bit different but they will still have the amazing taste!
