Bold Three-Meat Crockpot Chili

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs meat 1-lb each ground beef, pork and bacon
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 45 oz one 15-oz can of each kidney beans, chili beans & black beans drained
  • 14 oz can diced tomatoes NOT drained
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 TBSP chili powder
  • 1 TBSP minced garlic
  • 1 TBSP brown sugar
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Prep: Cook all the meat. Brown the ground beef and the ground pork together on the stovetop, while simultaneously cooking the bacon in the oven. 
  • Dice the onion into small chunks.
  • Assemble: Add the cooked meat, diced onion, drained beans, all three cans of tomato products, beef broth, chili powder, garlic, brown sugar, the seasonings, and Worcestershire sauce. Give the mixture a few stirs to combine all the ingredients well.
  • Cook: Set the crock pot on low and cook for at least 6 hours, preferably 8-10 hours. Low and slow so that the flavors meld perfectly!
  • Serve chili in single serving bowls, top each bowl with cheese, sour cream, and chives. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Homemade chili, as long as it is properly stored in an airtight container, can last 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator before going bad.
