- 19 oz package sausage or bratwurst Johnsonville or any brand you prefer
- 2 cups mashed potatoes homemade or packaged
- 2 cups shredded cheddar jack cheese
Place five sausages in the Sizzling Sausage Grill. Close and lock the lid, plug the grill in and press the top button to begin cooking. Or you can cook sausages in a pan or on a grill.
Prepare your mashed potatoes, stir ½ cup shredded cheese into warm mashed potatoes.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set oven to BROIL.
When sausages are cooked, remove them from the grill and carefully cut them in half lengthwise. Be sure to not cut them all the way through.
Open sausages and spoon about ⅓ rounded cup of mashed potatoes on to each sausage. Repeat until all sausages are filled with mashed potatoes.
Sprinkle cheese on top. Broil for 3-4 minutes, until cheese is melted and lightly toasted. Serve & enjoy!
Sausage Potato Boats keep in the fridge for 3–4 days in an airtight container and reheat best in the oven or air fryer.
Freezing isn’t recommended, as the mashed potatoes and cheese can lose their texture, so they’re best enjoyed fresh.
