Ingredients

  • 1 large Granny Smith apple peeled & diced
  • 6 oz dried cranberries
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 ¼ cup water
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  • Prep: Start by peeling and dicing the apple into small chunks.
  • Cook: Combine the cranberries, brown sugar, water, apple chunks, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves in a medium/large saucepan and cook over medium heat.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Continue to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Chill: Let the cranberry mixture cool & then transfer to an airtight container. Chill until ready to serve. Chutney is best made ahead of time, so that it has time for the flavors to meld prior to serving.

Notes

Store chutney in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Can be frozen for up to 4 months.
