Ingredients

  • 5 small pears peeled and sliced
  • ¾ cup white grape juice or apple juice
  • cup sugar
  • 4 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • Prep: Peel each pear and slice them into eight even pieces.
  • Cook: Transfer the sliced pears into a medium saucepan, add the juice, sugar, and lemon juice. Bring this mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the heat and let the mixture cool for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Blend: Proceed to pour the pear mixture into a blender and blend on medium/high for 1-2 minutes, until the mixture is completely smooth.
  • Freeze: Pour the mixture into a freezable container, cover with a lid and place in the freezer for about 4 hours or until firm.
  • Serve: Once the sorbet has frozen, you can serve it straight out of the freezer, or you can put the frozen sorbet back into the blender for about 20-30 seconds right before serving (if you prefer a smooth consistency). Enjoy this tasty frozen treat!

Notes

Store pear sorbet in an airtight container and it will be good for 1-2 weeks. Place it near the back of the freezer for best results, this is the coldest part of the freezer and won't be affected much when opening the freezer.
