In a food processor finely crush your oreos.
Add the melted 4 tablespoons of butter to the crushed oreos and blend again.
Press the oreo crumbs into the bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie pan.
In a medium microwave safe bowl combine the chocolate chips, 3 TBSP of butter and milk and melt in the microwave in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth.
Pour the chocolate mixture over the crust.
Sprinkle ¼ cup of the crushed peppermints on top of the chocolate.
In another bowl using an electric mixer beat the cream cheese, sugar, sour cream and peppermint extract until smooth.
Fold in the cool whip.
You can spread the cream mixture on top of the pie or put it in a piping bag and pipe it on.
I top the pie with more crushed peppermints and some dark chocolate shavings.
Refrigerate overnight! Don’t skip this step! This pie needs the overnight chill to come together perfectly. Serve & enjoy!
