- 1 pre-made pie crust refrigerated
- ⅓ cup unsweetened applesauce
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- oil for frying
Mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl.
Take 1 TBSP of the cinnamon sugar mixture and mix with the applesauce.
Spread the apple sauce onto half of the pie crust leaving ¼-inch rim around the edge without any apple sauce.
Fold the pie crust over and pinch to seal the edge.
Use a pizza cutter and cut the pie crust into strips, creating the apple pie fries. For the longer strips, you'll want to cut those in half.
Heat ½-inch of oil in a skillet. Once the oil is hot, fry the Apple Pie Fries in batches for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the Fries from the oil and place on a paper towel lined plate.
Shake the finished fries in the remaining cinnamon and sugar. Serve warm & enjoy!
Leftover sweet fries stay fresh for about 1-2 days at room temperature. For longer storage, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat them in a low oven or toaster oven to keep the crust crispy.
