Ingredients

  • 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 16 ounce bag of marshmallows
  • orange food coloring
  • 16 green mini M&M’s
  • 16 mini Tootsie Rolls

Instructions

  • Add the butter to a large microwave-safe bowl and heat in 15-20 second increments, stirring in between each interval until fully melted.
  • In the same bowl, add a few drops of the food coloring to the butter and mix. Add the marshmallows and heat in the microwave in 20-30 second increments, stirring in between each interval until melted, approximately 1- 1 ½ minutes.
  • Add 4-5 more drops of orange food coloring and stir, using a fork, until the desired color is reached.
  • Pour the Rice Krispies, a cup at a time, into the mixture and stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Spray your hands with non-stick cooking spray, then scoop out a handful of the rice krispie mixture and roll it between your palms forming a ball.
  • Place the rice krispie balls onto a sheet of parchment paper.
  • Make a small indention with your finger into the top center of the ball and add one mini tootsie roll for the stem and one mini green M&M on the side for a leaf. Use your hands to reshape if needed. It is much easier to add the stem and leaf when the mixture is still warm, so try to do this part quickly before the pumpkins set up too much!
