Ingredients

  • 23 oz Unsweetened Applesauce one small jar
  • 1 Funfetti Cake Mix
  • 1 Funfetti Frosting
  • Nonstick Cooking Spray

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Place the cake mix in a medium-large mixing bowl, along with the apple sauce. Mix well.
  • Place the batter into a frosting bag and fill the cavities of the prepared donut pan to the very top.
  • Bake for 22-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes outs clean.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 5 minutes before placing on a cooling rack to finish cooling fully.
  • Once cooled, place the frosting in a microwave-safe bowl and cook on high for 45 seconds. Stir the frosting and keep cooking if it hasn’t turned to complete liquid yet.
  • Gently dip the tops of the donuts (the part attached to the pan) into the frosting. Wait to let the excess drip off before turning it up right and placing back on the cooling rack.
  • Immediately sprinkle with the funfetti sprinkles. Repeat until all donuts are frosted.

Notes

Be very gentle removing the donuts from the pan. They can be sticky until cooled.
You can do this with any cake mix or frosting combo you choose, it doesn’t have to be funfetti.
You don’t have to use a frosting bag to add the batter to the tin, it just makes it a lot easier and quicker.
Store in a sealed container, in the pantry, for up to 3 days.
